TRP reporting we inquired about him returning next season.
Turned down in favor of staying at Montpellier.

Saw that. TBH, with Lynagh, Green, Murley, Earle, Morris,
Marchant, Chisholm and Cleaves potentially coming into the
Academy, I'm not that bothered myself. I think we will sign
another option at FB (David it seems from Worcs). He can also
play wide. The only potential reason getting Gabs (or anyone
else) would be that someone is leaving. Of the players I
mentioned, Murley and Earle are the ones OOC. I could actually
see Earle moving myself.

Although I would like to see Gabs back at the club, I assume he
wants to try and prove himself I France and have. a chance of
getting into Eddie Jones thinking.
Ashton rebuilt his international career with his spell at Toulon
and the Babas.
If we sign Nick David, that fills a spot on the wing/fb. Most
likely a replacement for Brown of he is off at the end of the
season.
I feel we need at least one more senior outside back, as well as
a back up flyhalf, second row, hooker and back row.
For me Tom Lawday has gone backwards. We need a Maurie Fasivalou
type player (apologies for the spelling), a game breaking back
row. Someone that can support Domborant.

I think Lawday has struggled due to injury and not playing. If
we can get him up and running, he is a very good player (Baxter
himself said how sorry he was to let him go, due to the Cap and
Lawday wanting game time). In the nicest way, Mo was a freak.
One of my all time favourites Quins

Not seen a great deal from Lawday in his limited opportunities -
not enough grunt and go forward for me 😕

I don’t think any of our wingers have Gabs raw attacking skill,
but overall each is a better winger when you add in defence
highball and kicking. I think it shows how limited Gabs is at
the moment.

Let him stay there and rot. He didn't like the competition to
earn his place so he left.

I’d take Green & Morris over him any time.

No idea why we’d want him back. Great selection of wingers with
us already and some of them can play other positions, can catch
a high ball and, amazingly, tackle. I wonder whether the
approach came from the other direction...

It's an interesting call. Perhaps his disastrous French jaunt
would have finally convinced him he needs to work on the more
boring side of his game to be a proper player?
