Rather a contradiction there.
Plenty of people applauded Marland's try. And, as others have
said, it sounded like pantomime boo's.

Spoke to my mate this morning who was in the South Stand and it
was far from pantomime boos. A lot of it was pretty vicious, he
said. Shame.

I sit in the North and the booing was certainly not all or even
mainly from that end. I think saying that it was largely due to
the forward pass is also wishful thinking, as it started before
the replays showed it was probably forward and came from palces
where they couldn't have judged the pass in real time.
Whether people think it is pantomime booing or unacceptable
behaviour contrary to rugby's ethos / spirit / etc is a matter
of opinion I suppose. I thought it was pretty poor, but I accept
that others won't. Any more vocal abuse though is definitely
unacceptable

I’m not sure he did though, and that’s why he plays for another
club now. Unless turning up late for training / missing
training etc counts as giving your all.

Was doing his best not turning up for training and when he did
always turning up late? His behaviour was certainly part of the
problem last year ask our senior players.

Regardless of anything he did, this is rugby. How many times
does that get brought up on a variety of subjects? How many
people saying he deserved the booing/abuse have said 'this is
rugby' elsewhere, I wonder?
The way to deal with it was to ignore him and get on with the
job. He got his try, fair play to him. We always knew he was a
good player.
But the way to win in these situations is to take the high
ground and do our talking on the scoreboard. Sadly, we only
achieved one of those things. But, hopefully, this was a unique
situation.

Agreed. Booing isn't rugby, nor should it ever be. It's the thin
end of a very big wedge that potentially leads to abuse, foul
language, and a diminution of values.
