Very impressed with Kenningham. Quick around the park and some
big turnovers. I've been surprised that we've not been linked
with other opensides as back up/competition for Evans but based
on yesterday's performance, Kenningham looks good enough now.
I'd hoped for a better performance from Morris at 15, coming off
the back of a run of decent games on the wing. Yesterday really
did cement the fact that he should be considered a wing only.
Hopefully Green or Lynagh get a shot at 15 next time Brown is
rested.
Great gas and stepping from Green for his tries. Liked the big
fend as well which we don't see enough of from players. He could
be very dangerous on the counter attack from 15.

I thought Green tackled well too - a bit unlucky for their first
try as he brought the man down and Elia tripped over him. Didn’t
get a feel for how good he is under a high ball, if he has this
as well I’d agree I’d rather see him at FB than Morris.

Thought Green was excellent yesterday, very committed in the
tackle area and serious pace. Don’t think we’ve had someone with
that kind of pace since Charlie Walker. Morris had some bright
moments in attack but again showed why he’s not the future at
15. Against Saints I’d like to see
11) Green
14) Lynagh
15) Brown
Kenningham had a great debut, really put himself round the park.
I’d probably shift Chis to blindside and Dombradnt into 8 and
keep Kenningham at 7 if Evans is still injured.
Landajo was very poor, seemed to slow the ball down at every
breakdown. Our attack excels when Smith gets quick ball and is
allowed to make decisions, would like to see Gjatema on the
bench for the next game.
I think Smith and Marchant could have big games against Saints.
Think they’ll prioritise stopping Esterhuizen on the gain line
due to the damage he did in the last game against them. Should
be some space for Smith and Marchant to attack.

Along with Landajo, Elia very much not a positive. Very poor
game yesterday (or I should say, poor half, since he received
the proverbial shepherd's crook fairly early on).

Outside of the result, I was pretty pleased.
So many positives
Game time mainly for
Elia, northmore, kenningham, Tizard, Landajo, green. - a huge
positive. These have barely played since before Christmas, so
blowing the cobwebs away will stand the squad in good stead as
we move through the second half of the season.
Thought the team, overall tried to stick to the same principles
of the last few weeks as well.
Kenningham did not disappoint at all and finally we have had the
chance to see why Green was brought over.
I felt that it was a game we could have won, but just one or two
moments we slipped, which I put down to rust.
Onwards and upwards, can’t be too unhappy, especially watching
those Green tries. Scorchio

Yes, I agree NLB.
Elia and Landajo are both very capable players and will
hopefully benefit from the chance of having had some more game
time. They are better than they showed yesterday and are
possibly trying too hard when they get on the pitch. Neither
will be an automatic starter in the Prem moving forward, I would
say, so hopefully they have been able to blow off the cobwebs
and are ready to support from the bench. Hopefully the coaches
can keep them positive. It's a tricky one.
Kenningham looks a very able deputy to the outstanding Evans,
and Green may take Morris's place on the wing when Brown comes
in next week. Morris is a bit unfortunate - he has been great on
the wing - but Green took his chance pretty much perfectly!
I thought Marler was excellent again yesterday. He is really
showing class, focus and leadership. Love him!!! I just hope he
doesn't need a rest. Having Marler, Baldwin and Louw is an
international front row of supreme quality. I think it is the
best in the league.
White was rested this weekend after a very good run. I suppose
he will return to the bench for the Saints game, with Chis,
Dombrandt and Kenningham making up the back row.
The other questions are Northmore or Marchant? (Joe might get
the nod.)
And, will Symons be ready for the weekend after his HIA? It
seems doubtful, so hopefully Tizard will partner Lewies. Young
is good but, as he is leaving, I would rather see Tizard play.

There is work to be done at full back. A lot of if’s and but’s.
But if Brown is not here next year we need to give Morris more
time to adapt. We also seem to have a plethora of wings now
Morris
Earle
Murley
Lynagh
Green
Plus the Marchant option
And no real full backs...... unless Green is the option, which
is what I thought long term....

I think Elia underlined (again) why he’s unlikely to ever be
good enough to start. His set piece game is poor and his
propensity for foul play makes him a bit too much of a liability
IMO, particularly considering the with Musk and Riley, we have
two very promising homegrown hookers who are either ready or not
far off being ready to make the step-up.
Landajo has been a poor signing from the get go. He certainly
doesn’t look like a tier 1 test player with 80-something caps
and has had the sum total of maybe two good games for Quins.
Having Steele back will make a big difference.
Has Gjaltema arrived yet? I don’t recall seeing him in any
training shots.
