Team selections post-Gustard

Does it seem to you that we have seen any notable changes in
team selection — in who's more favoured, and who's less favoured
— since Gustard left?
Obviously, injuries potentially distort any such analysis, but
just off the top of my head:
Less favoured: Lawday, Cavubati, Earle, Gray, big Chis, Tapuai,
Lasike, Herron?
More favoured: Lynagh, Steele, Green, White, Morris, Northmore?

Lawday is injured.
I don't think Northmore is more favoured, just he was injured,
and now isn't and is starting tomorrow. :) Big Chis also starts
tomorrow.
Earle was injured, although he's not on the list today. Maybe
just not quite ready yet? Maybe they don't want to risk it on
Falcons' horrid plastic pitch first time out?
Other than that, I'd say you're pretty much spot on.

Not sure about Lasike - given Esterhuizen’s form I can’t see him
starting unless Esterhuizen is rested or injured, and he’s not
the most versatile bench option when we have players who can
cover multiple positions. I wouldn’t be unhappy at a
Lasike-Northmore-Marchant combo if he has anything like his
previous form.

I'm not sure you can really read that much into it when injuries
have played a big part.
Symons and Lewies are clear first choice and Cavubati was some
way down the pecking order before. Young and Tizard were ahead
of him.
Estherhuizern and Marchant are first choice really, with
Northmore a useful back up, so no surprise to see little of
Tapuai. Lasike has been injured and would probably only start in
place of Estherhuizen anyway, as he's not a great bench option
unless Lang and Smith are starting together.
Sam with Smith v Herron
Earle has been injured
Not sure you can say Steele is more favoured when he's been away
with Scotland, and was regularly picked ahead of Landajo anyway.
Green has barely featured.
White has featured more, but mainly due to Lawday and Chisholm's
injuries
Gray sadly is permanently injured and didn't feature much
before.
I'd say Lynagh is the only one who has clearly been "promoted"

Apart from Cavubatu and possibly Gray, all the ones you have
mentioned have had injury troubles

I like the idea of Lasike on at 13 later in the game to give a
'double crash ball' midfield. We have plenty of pace on the
wings and two big runners could suck in a lot of defenders :D

- That second group appears to be the more youthful; could we be
seeing a theme developing here?

I think people are reading too much into this. The players
mentioned as being less favoured have all been or are injured
barring Cavubatu

Whilst delighted by the post G results I do feel a bit sorry
for him.
Marler out injured, Louw just settling, second rows Symonds and
Lewies out and Andre suspended plus others out no wonder we
struggled
Overall very happy he has left, it has brought a breath of fresh
air and the players appear to have the shackles removed

Many in your 'more favoured' group came in under Gustard's
watch.
But their initially lower success prior to PG's leaving suggests
that they were recruited to expect something different to what
they got on arrival.
And this in turn suggests that someone other than Gustard sold
Harlequins to them and persuaded them to join.
Did Millard promise them syrup on their porridge while Gustard
delivered salt? Is he now fulfilling his promise to recruitees,
and they're repaying him on the pitch?
