I think Daly has suffered from being a bit of a "jack of all
trades". Wing is really competitive for England now, Id love to
see Thorley, Cokanasigna (I know he has had injury trouble)
given a decent run. I remember the game at the Stoop when he
destroyed us, we could not cope with the power

Daly is good at the attacking elements of being a fullback and
he *can* tackle - but other teams have worked out how to exploit
his weakness under the high ball and defensive positioning.
Which, of course, are the aspects where Brown excels.
That said, I would be very happy to see Malins get a run out
there, and England is not short of potential successors -
Steward has looked pretty impressive and Harry Mallinder had an
assured return from injury at 15. The question is when Eddie
will have seen enough to make a change.

Not sure Daly's tackling is much better than Alex Goode's tbh.
Malins has also shown the occasional weakness there but he's
such an intelligent attacking talent that you may as well take
the big upgrade in attack anyway.

You are of course absolutely entitled to your opinion
Twickersman and I would be the last to say you weren't. (But i
       had to laugh!).

I would certainly rather see Malins at full back than Daly. He's
just not anywhere near any real form at the moment. Bit
disappointed to see Wilson in after a bit of a stinker against
Scotland but think he's only really there because Willis is
injured. Would still rather have Ben Earl though on balance.
       Plus Robson, obviously.
I'm struggling to get that interested by this 6 nations this
year. Just isn't the same without crowds, I'd usually be going
to a game or 2. Plus, Eddie's on one of his 'create chaos, stick
stubbornly to something that isn't working' phases and we've now
had a COVID postponement which will make the competition further
       strange.

If I was feeling generous, I'd say EJ is giving them one more
       chance to prove themselves.
If I was feeling Dick Dastardly, I'd say EJ's lost the plot and
Mutley would do a better job picking the best team available...
Ignoring either Simmonds from Exeter is just silly. Mind you,
Exe have lost a few games now and are not at their best; no
doubt they'll rediscover their talents when they play us...
       But but but: perhaps not!

If you were feeling Dick Dastardly Klunk and Zilly might get
upset. But Yankee Doodle Pigeon would be safe. Come to think of
it Yankee Doodle Pigeon would be great on the wing. I see Klunk
as a bench option at hooker and we already have Zilly at
       fullback.

You do get the feeling that Jones is waiting for Daly to have
one good game, say against Namibia, so he can tell everyone he
was right. Not a fullback, shouldn't be there. We all love Brown
but he's not the future. England won't be in the next WC Final
whilst Farrell, Billy & Mako, continental plate Youngs and Daly
       are still regular starters.
Time to move on and if that means EJ goes then so be it.

Perhaps he'll try the Anthill Mob as a replacement front 8
       next...

just can't do it. Daly should be know where near this team and
how can he be getting a 50 cap, I can hardly remember a good
game, how does his career compare to North who is getting his
100th cap. He is a great player, Daly must be one of the poorest
       player to get 50 caps
       >

I would say though, that North wouldn't even have 50 caps if he
was playing for England. Size is the only thing going for him.
Always out of position, always jams in when defending and makes
a lot of mistakes. Daly shouldn't play 15... end of! He's a very
good 13 and an above average winger but 13 is his position.
Difficult for him to be in form when he's not played in his
natural position these days, massive shame.
Of the two though, I'd take Daly over North in any position.
