If I recall, and I thought it had bounced on the line, the
incident was looked at in a highlights show and they reckoned
that the ball touched the line . He either didn’t know time was
up or he’s not very quick thinking because he only had a couple
of metres to the edge of the pitch behind him. I remember
watching the ball fly into the air and realise that it was going
up the pitch and not sideways. You knew then that they would
score.

The scrum half could have kicked the ball out behind the line as
I recall, Botica got a ball he wasn`t expecting and instinct
took over.

I remember BB's second & last major "brain fart" in the
Challenge Cup final in Lyon. However, my abiding memories of
that night are of a stadium in the middle of nowhere, served by
a single tram service, sharing a cab back to the centre of town
(while BQ valiantly made his own way back when we were too many
to fit into the car, thanks Bolly!) and then a very drunken
night in central Lyon with some great French supporters. Here's
hoping it's not too long before we can all enjoy European
evenings like that again.

It was the end of the game. He could have walked off the pitch.
There was no pressure. It was the most idiotic decision I've
ever seen on a rugby pitch. If that had been an u11s game he
would have been ridiculed, and rightly so.

Having just watched the YouTube highlight, it wasn't as I
thought Tebaldi, it was no 23 who could have dealt with it
himself rather than passing the ball to a rather bemused Botica.

More danger of the 9 getting scragged there, I think. It's
always a bunfight on the tryline. Botica should've walked off
the pitch. Looks like he tried to be a bit cute with the kick
which meant he didn't get much power on it.

It remains true though that the rest of the team conspired to
make that an easy score for Northampton. The defence wasn't all
over the place, it was in position it just didn't work!
