The search for our new DoR

       According to this Mail article

/>the formal process begins in a couple of weeks, although
informal discussions have already started. Apparently one person
we've chatted to is Rassie Erasmus...[emoji848]

With the way we have been playing, I wonder if we really need a
DoR. We seem to be doing just fine!

TRP have also namedropped Robertson this morning, though they
also say Quins have got it down to two candidates already. A bit
at odds with what the club are saying

I think this is just a bit of lazy writing tbh. I could be
       wrong of course.

Do we need a DoR in the traditional sense?
The coaches we have with Millard sitting above them working on
the"business" side of the rugby seem to be doing very well. I'm
not entirely sure of the structure of the way it's working now
but it does seem to be working.

I don't know the answer but I do have a lot of trust in
Dalrymple. He did an outstanding job at Wolves and got the
Gustard decision, including its timing, bang on.
My gut is that the role of general manager is here to stay. The
responsibilities of a traditional DoR are too broad and as at
most football clubs these days, you see support for the
manager/coach through directors of football, recruitment guru's
etc. It would seem logical from the outside that Dalrymple is
trying to replicate this model at Quins.
Scott Robertson is probably the outstanding candidate for any
DoR/Head Coach role globally. If we think we have a sniff of
getting him, we should go for it.
If we can't get an outstanding candidate, then let's either
leave as is (assuming Millard is happy?) or look to get in a
wise old head who is happy to let the coaches do their thing and
provide hands off guidance, until Evan's or Flannery are ready
       to step up.

Not sure I’d want Rassie Erasmus.
He obviously did a great job with SA and Munster before that,
but we’ve really profited from playing attractive attacking
rugby in the past few weeks, so it would be strange to be bring
in a coach known for more of a power-based style of play.
Robertson would be an amazing coup, but beyond that I’m not
       really sure who I’d want?
The most important things for me are a coach who recognises that
the core of the side is made up of players who are best suited
to an attacking style and a coach who values the academy.
We’ve seen that Gustard’s attempt to re-brand the side as
Saracens 2.0 was a failure and I’d be worried about Erasmus
trying to do the same whilst being a lot more expensive.

Agree 100%. Win or lose, I want to see attacking, ball in hand
       rugby.

Pretty much the same names as when Conor left
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it
What have we said for so long we lack “ Consistency “
At the moment the results and performance have been “ Consistent
       “

Yes to Robertson I think he’d suit our style and really get the
team fizzing. From the outside he looks like the bloke you’d
       want to work for.
Rassie, good coach but as said above would he suit our style I’d
       say he’s more a Bath/Tigers style coach.
We’ll see though it could be Jerry promoted from within.
