Not a physical fight, but the poster is straight away calling it
a right wing vs left wing thing when I have given questions that
any head of state should answer to.
The unwavering love for an anti democratic institution is clear
however.

Usual hyperbole. One poster made a comment and yet you wish to
paint a mural with your brush.
Why is Harry silly? Because he has made the choice to leave The
Firm?
Credit to him for supporting his wife.
I'm with Daz - time to appoint a non-political or Royal as
Patron of the RFU.
And as for not being first in the line" when the brains were
handed out (bit like his sainted mother)" - I'm no royalist -
nor republican - but suggest that you are far off the mark here:
anyone that has served the country on the front line in
Afghanistan probably has more than a few brains, unlike some on
here.
Oh, and by the way, it was reported that the House of Windsor
has had more than 1,062 articles to "consent" before finally
going to Parliament.

I don't think so. I think it started with a fair comment about
doesn't have to be a Royal but the escalated with the bits about
tax dodging etc then the insinuation that those who don't like
the Royal Family must be left wing. These comments are always
going to cause friction. Probably no need for all of that.
Opinions on if you like the Royal Family or not are surely
irrelevant other than if you think a member of the Royal Family
should be patron to the RFU.
I agree with Dazza in that it should be someone who has been
involved with rugby like Wilkinson.

I largely agree with you - I just think that bashing Harry
because he's thick (and so is his Mum, by a certain poster's
assertion) are not called for and, as you say, are irrelevant
apart from having no truth.

Absolutely agree with you re Harry, he has done a lot of
fantastic work for all veterans and especially those who have
been medically discharged. You have to have some brains to be a
helo commander.

I struggling to understand why this is a question or even an
issue with all the serious issues facing rugby - such as:
- Financial sustainability of professional clubs, amateur clubs
and national unions
- The medical and legal ramification of concussion and head
knocks
- Sustainability and changes to Professional & Semi professional
leagues, global rugby
- Grassroots and schoolboy rugby
- etc etc
btw - I googled "patron NZR" and found out, that its the former
All Blacks captain Ian Kirkpatrick. Didn't know this and didn't
know NZR even had a patron because it so unimportant.
