       Mike Brown blames Eddie Jones

For those who do not have a translator......
For England, the victory gained against Italy in the second
round of the Six Nations 2021 was not a cure-all, indeed.
Twickenham's affirmation, which came with a score of 41-18,
stirred the waters but - paradoxically - in the negative, so
much so that the criticisms received at Eddie Jones's address
almost doubled compared to what occurred after the debacle of
the debut against Scotland in the Calcutta Cup.
Public opinion and insiders have made it clear several times:
this is a team too prisoner of the tactical game and that leaves
few interpretations to its elements to try to create situations
       in hand.
England, Mike Brown's accusations against Eddie Jones: "I
answered him, he didn't let me play anymore"
A refrain also confirmed by Mike Brown (72 caps with the
Representative of the Rose), extreme of the Harlequins, who from
the columns of the Daily Mail he did not send her to tell Eddie,
with whom he understood, he has not lived, in the past years, an
idyllic relationship: "England must use more weapons at its
disposal - he began - I, and I think even those at home watching
the game can't stand this style of play. It takes more
creativity, something that triggers the trocar and in particular
       the enlarged triangle ”.
Then he continues: “We saw something against Italy, but this
must not be an exception. This mentality will also be needed
with Wales. I hope the players have the courage to tell Eddie
Jones: from now on they change ”.
Then he adds to the dose: “I know that for a while the players
have accepted the directives imposed by Eddie Jones, also
because it is always easier to follow orders than to contest
things, but I hope someone has the courage to challenge him.
Jones' methods and language are well known in the world but, I
repeat, I hope someone will tell him to change things ”.
A clarification on his relationship with the coach: "Before the
2019 World Cup, he toured all the Premiership clubs to talk to
each other on an individual level: on that occasion we met and
he told me that he saw me more as a defender. who as a striker
able to carry the ball and who should have understood on what
basis to set the game at the World Cup. I replied telling him
that, in my view, this was not true: he went into a rage,
exploded. I brought him my stats to show him what I was saying,
but nothing. He screamed and then every time I lost a ball in
attack in subsequent matches, he never missed an opportunity to
       let me notice it ”.
“He did not do so only with me - he concludes - he did it also
with Danny Care and Alex Goode: since then neither of them has
put on the national team jersey. I hope that Jonny May and
Anthony Watson put together the videos and the statistics
collected against Italy to go to Eddie Jones and tell him: did
you see what we did against Italy? It worked, we have to
       continue on this path ”.

The Daily Mail Mike Brown story
  HTML https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/rugbyunion/article-9257463/MIKE-BROWN-hope-England-players-challenge-Jones-attacking-mindset-shown-against-Italy.html
       [quote=Mike Brown]
Eddie has a sharp tongue and he's not afraid to use it. One
minute he'll be playing cricket with the guys, then the next
       he's like a scary headmaster.
Everyone has heard the scare stories and you don't want to get
on the wrong side of him.
I challenged Eddie once and he blew up. Before the 2019 Japan
World Cup camp, he went around all the clubs to do one-on-ones
with players. During our meeting, he said: 'You're a defensive
full-back and I need to work out whether we will take a
defensive full-back to the World Cup.'
I'd had one of my best seasons for Quins with really good
attacking stats, but Eddie had pigeon-holed me as a defensive
full-back. At the end of this meeting, he asked if I had
anything I wanted to say. I challenged his comments that I was
just a defensive full-back, saying I thought I had been adding
value to the attack, with examples and stats from my season,
before saying I would take away all of his points and that I
would do everything I could to get into the World Cup squad.
He did not like that I had contested what he said and went mad.
He shouted: 'Well you lost the f****** ball in contact on
Saturday, didn't you? That's f****** not good enough. You're not
       f****** doing everything you can.'
Danny Care and Alex Goode both challenged him a couple of years
ago and neither of them has played for England since.

Well, I'm not entirely sure what triggers the "enlarged
triangle". Perhaps a particularly large trocar?

"enlarged triangle" = back three, I think...
Trocar, or trequarto in Italian is obviously three quarters...

A few players now have said that he doesn't like to be
challenged. I'm not saying that players should be constantly
mouthing off and doing their own thing, but it doesn't really
reflect well on a coach if they can't cope with a difference of
opinion / constructive input. Obviously the head coach / DOR
will always have the final say, but why would you punish a
player for suggested a different point of view?
With Daly you get a poor defensive fullback and one who used to
be decent in attack but now seems to have lost that too.
Basically you get a 15 who is very quick and can kick it far but
not much else, including passing and catching, tackling,
       positional play, etc

It’s my way or the highway!
This will be why players like Smith, Odogwu, Simmonds x2 etc
won’t make the starting team because they strike me as off the
cuff unpredictable let’s try something different type players
rather than a robotic type pass kick pass kick player EJ wants

So what Mike is saying is that the England team is yes men only.
Rather confirms the idea that it is Eddie’s way or you’re out.
No wonder we don’t have any flare these days.
