Great result, very well played Quins! Particularly pleasing was
that when we went behind we didn't panic and fall to bits but if
anything came back stronger. Since lovely runs from Marchant and
Tapui and some deft touches from Marcus. Back row were good I
thought, impressed with Bothma he was putting himself about a
       fair bit!

Best first game of the season I have ever seen from Quins.

Fitness looks better and last season when we messed up heads
would have gone down - so hopeful we have turned a corner

A highlight was that period of some six or seven minutes in the
second half where they were camped in our 22. Last season we'd
either let them through on the first attempt, or give away
multiple occurrences of the same penalty, leading to a card, and
at least 7 points (typically more) while the player was off.
Today, we seemed harder and a little more "savvy" (some would
say cynical), playing at the edge, b willing to give away
penalties, but crucially vary the offences so the reg didn't
have the option to reach for a card.
Then to top it off with Lasike's interception & barrel upfield,
it shows some promised. Overall an acceptable first game of the
       season! 😎

My magic moment was the superb ball winning take in the air by
Joe Marchant from one of the restarts, got the whole team and
       the crowd buzzing.

Well that was most pleasing. A good all round effort with the
backs looking so much more dangerous than at any point last
season. A distinct lack of panic and a real semblance of players
looking like they knew what they were doing. Panic didn’t set in
when Sale had the upper hand and the set piece actually looked
pretty good. Brilliant start to the season - we’ll done lads.

Defence was so much better. Great crunching tackles driving
players back. And 'they must not pass' attitude

The attack of the breakdown was the first thing that struck me.
Then there was the organisation of our defence. Much better than
last season (sorry Minty!) and then there was mental toughness.
That was the bit worried me. While we were level pegging them,
all the time I worried the next score would be the one to break
us - but it never happened. We kept coming back, we kept doing
the things we'd decided to do as if we believed that doing them
would eventually bring us victory, and it did.
Yes, there were a number of stupid individual acts that cost us
points, but overall the TEAM (and it was a team!) stuck together
       and stuck to their task.
Well done Harlequins! One in the eye for all those pundits, now
all we have to do is take that approach to Northampton next
       Friday!
