Bomb as LH Prop

On another thread I've been reminded of the day when Bomb
swapped sides and played 78 minutes at Loose Head.
Which game was this?

Wasn't it the Northampton game? He wasn't meant to be in the
squad and travelled from Wales to bench if I recall? Went on
after a few minutes.

According to Wales Online, it was against Northampton, Kieran
Brookes and Paul Hill in 2016 - both were, at the time, well
established international tightheads, making Bomb's performance
even more impressive.

You're mixing two occasions up. The one where he travelled back
from Wales, having got the call at 11:30, was against Sale. He
only played an hour of that, but still exceptionally impressive!

Yes it was Sale where he came back from Wales - originally only
to take over coaching duties from Rowntree, then found himself
on the bench, and then on the field.

I remember both games, I don’t recall Jones straying more than
about 20 yards from the centre of the pitch unless it was
essential, a bit like watching a master squash player control
the centre of the court. He was magnificent.

Great. Thank you.
I was thinking of 78 minutes as a LH prop.

Unfortunately no mention of Bomb's incredible innings on the
match highlights

There was something in the post match interview about Bomb's
shift. I can't find it on YouTube.
