If, as the article states, Eastwood has been working with Quins
since towards the end last season, perhaps there have been
concerns for longer than we thought and Gustard saw what was
coming.

over the last few months, I was wondering if he has engaged with
any elements of our fan base, as surely the 8k STHs who’ve been
part of this club for decades, are very much part of the culture
( good or bad). Has anyone on here been engaged, or know of
people who have ?

Local fan, home and away for 20 years, live the club.Drip me a
note.

Of course not, we just help to fund the club. We will be last in
the queue after club stewards or the bar employees.

Fan consultation is the best way to change things. Ultimately we
are all "shareholders" whether that is putting money in with
season tickets, to buying shirts and beers in the bar after. I
do worry in this consultants type approach it might muddy the
waters even further, rather than just getting the little mans
perspective.
As much as I disliked him, I did have a meeting with David Ellis
during JK's reign which I did respect. He however swore blind JK
was the right man to lead us forward and that also his choice of
captain (Danny care) was spot on which made me believe he knew
nothing. He now isn't here and I can confidently say I was right
and he was wrong now time has elapsed.

Problem is, quite a few of our fans will also be a bit clueless
(IMHO)

Whether you think the crowd influences the team, or vice versa,
the interdependence between the 2 certainly influences a
‘culture’.
Open it up, Owen.

"Did you also trust him to get us embroiled in a cheating
scandal that is still talked about a decade later? Is that the
culture you wanted for Quins?
I have a lot of time for Deano (and - not that it would happen -
would be happy to see him back here) but I would hardly hold him
up as a paragon of culture."
I would - he turned up from relegation to a team that had a hard
working culture and got rid of the soft Quins culture
I could not care less that he got caught getting a player off
the pitch when it was a common occurrence
The only culture I care about is a winning one

No it is not - buying a short or a beer does not make anyone an
expert

Fan consultation should be part of a root and branch look at the
club. We pay a large part of the revenue that keeps the club
afloat. Therefore we need to be kept happy be it not queuing for
ages to buy something, being asked to pay too much for
merchandise or food and drink to tickets for games. I know that
consultants had been brought in to improve the efficiency of the
bars. Shame they didn’t improve the quality of the beer but
that’s probably down to who pays the club the most to be
exclusive provider.

I remain surprised /disappointed LD needs the input of a
consultant to provide answers to the questions he raises but if
Eastwood’s recommendations take us forward in a sustainable way
I will applaud his contribution. However what surely will have a
far bigger impact will be the selection of the next Head
Coach-not DOR.The fact it is a shared responsibility with
Millard is unlikely to be attractive to established DORs -why
would Scott Robinson consider a 12000 mile relocation for a
smaller job?

You dont know if Millard will still be here doing the same job.
Isnt that the point??
It's only shared at the moment. Nothing is set in stone
