"To be fair to Gussy, I don’t think he wanted to stay there
because he has got a more exciting option.”
Assistant coach at Benetton? Is Goode taking drugs alongside the
pies now?

That's not strictly true. Dalrymple is a CEO with proper elite
sport experience on his CV - the first time we've had one of
those in a long old time. And I think I remember reading that
he's a very passionate and lifelong Quins fan (and followed the
rugby Prem closely even before joining us from Wolves - where he
is held in very high regard btw). All of that thrown together,
plus his assured appearances on camera since he's joined, mean I
trust him to do a much better job than Ellis.

From reading AG's feedback, it sound like Gussey took on the
bloob, as per Michael Gove against the teachers unions.
He lost big time. No doubt the players and coaches got the ear
of Lawrie. Quins need the older players moved on. The old
culture that won the 2012 league, is still left in 2012.
Who will take the job now? It is a poised chalice.
It seems that the clique of older players runs the club, reading
between the lines.

Laurie said in his YouTube interview that the Club have brought
Owen Eastwood in, and I'd hope that Mr Eastwood will be helping
with the recruitment process.

The trouble is ... a recruitment process is only ever going to
be as good as the candidates available to it.
‘Poison Chalice’ is an exaggeration, but it’s definitely an
opportunity with limited appeal.
On paper, there are some good players to build around and some
great academy prospects coming through, but even the most
cursory bit of research would reveal fault lines that would put
a lot of people off.
We can do a ‘worldwide search’ but the best candidates simply
will not be attracted which means that will most likely be
forced in to another gamble. I just hope it pays off this time.

tbh, I think the Quins job would be a much sought after position
myself.

More exciting things??? Leaving us by choice for Benetton
propping up the bottom of the Pro14?! The same Benetton who’ve
got less points than Ant McPartlin has on his driving license??
That’s like the equivalent of going from being married to Megan
Fox and waking up to Gemma Collins
