Worth a listen. I think what Ugo was saying made sense, that
there's no point bringing in a coach who wants to impose a
conservative, defensive game plan when you have an 8-10 of
Dombrandt, Care and Smith, who are attacking players by
instinct. I'm not saying that you should keep changing the game
plan depending on who the current players are, but if your best
players like a high tempo, attacking game, then trying to get
them to play a conservative game in unlikely to work. Either you
don't pick them and get in players who will play his preferred
game plan, or you create a game plan that suits your best
players.
I thought that what Ashton was saying was fair enough too.
Didn't work out and no sense him sitting around taking up cap
space if he's not going to play.

Yes, completely agree. It made a lot of sense. I hope this is a
chance for those three players to open up and go for it. Perhaps
they were being shackled (in terms of overall game plan) but I
think we have the talent in that trio (and beyond) to be one of
the best attacking teams in the league. Bristol have nicked our
style! We want it back!!!

The thing I was unclear about was Danny saying that the players
didn't push Gussie out but then said the board spoke to 'people'
about the current situation and direction and made a decision
from there. So who were these "people" if not the players?

To me that could mean....The players were not out on a witch
hunt to get PG but were asked by the board their honest thoughts
(which could have stemmed maybe from contract negotiations not
going as the club expected)

So the coaches and staff wanted him out then. This all sounds
like a bunch of petulant children to me. I expect that of us on
this forum but not them.
Chris Jones's point about, the players, didn't want JK and now
don't want Gussie how can they appease fans that any new
appointment will be different?
