Aside from the swipe at Quins, there's a genuinely remarkable
amount of guff in that piece.
"I felt inspired by his passion and energy"
"I already feel extremely involved and have a strong alignment
with Antonio and the club management"
"They have been nothing short of exceptional in the way they
       communicated with me"
       etc and so on

Yep! Call me cynical but I think those are also attempts at
thinly-veiled swipes at Quins. "Look at my new employer and all
the great things they do that my last employer didn't"

Reading his words, he just comes across as a bit petty.
I don't believe for a second that given the option 6 months ago,
he'd be interested in being defence coach at Bennetton.
Plus, what nonsense about the quality of the league improving.
Pro14 is garbage and getting worse year on year.

Even if you're not cynical it stinks of someone trying far, far
too hard and coming across as incredibly insincere as a result.
Mate, you've just gone from head coach at a Premiership club to
defence coach under a guy who's been coaching for a couple of
years at a club with an even worse record than Quins

Volevamo far parte di un gruppo in cui ci fosse una visione
chiara, un profondo livello di fiducia e un ambiente dinamico
       guidato verso obiettivi elevati.
Well, in fact the search for high goals will not be difficult to
achieve, given that this year out of 9 PRO games 14 they have
       lost 9
The Benetton is basically the Italian national team, which also
achieves excellent results in the international field, such as
12 wins out of 105 games since the 6 Nations was born.
Honestly given Gustard's resume, I was hoping for a better
       destination for him.
       O/T
However, we also managed to lose against Treviso in 2018 in the
Challenge Cup, and they played the last 10 minutes in 14, and
they made one try at the very last second.

The way he is saying he had loads of offers lined up since
December, so he must have known the writing was on the wall
then, he sounds like a bitter ex "I had so many opportunities".
I don't doubt his work ethic but it's clear he was frustrated at
Quins and Quins were frustrated with him so thanks for
everything, good luck for the future and all that but time to
       move on.

       My translation for his comments..
"I found out from the powers that be, that after taking on board
excellent feedback from the likes of MaidstoneQuin, it is clear
no one wanted me to continue because, lets face it I wasn't
really making many waves 3 seasons in and our performances were
about as consistent as the government response to covid - and
for Quins anyway that is some achievement. In a panic not to be
out of work for too long, I have taken a massive step back
joining a club at the @rse end of the pro14 because lets face it
I wasn't going to be offered a job anywhere higher up on my
recent showings. I would like to thank Teddington RFC, along
with the Dunelm Mill social team for their interest. Whilst I
have basically been demoted back to a lower post, I look forward
to learning the Italian for "We've trained really well in the
week, but we are eager to put it right".

I think that's the point: he went to Benetton, to gain
experience as Italy's next coach, when Franco Smith's contract
       ends in 2023.

I thought those were supposed to be key aspects that he would
bring to his role at Quins, or indeed any head coach would bring
when starting at a new club.
