Is there to be a flurry of re-signings now the situation has
changed? I know it’s that time of year but some may have been
waiting. Imagine if some key players were offered new contracts
and said not if PG is still in charge. Ross comes in for a lot
of stick but he’s a steady squad player.

There's a saying in insurance that there are no bad risks, only
bad pricing. I think it's much the same with players. Any player
who has made it into a Prem or even Championship squad is
potentially worth having, but they have to fit the ethos and
needs of the club, and they'll have to be on the right money.
We know that Ross is a Quins player through and through, and he
serves a useful role in the squad as someone who can play wing,
fullback or even in extremis fly half. What we don't know is
what he's being paid. A squad needs squad players as well as
stars, and presumably Ross won't be on the kind of contract we
might have expected for him before his injuries.

Totally agree. When he’s on the team sheet it normally means we
are struggling with injuries but credit to Ross always seems to
give his all.

If we're just looking for squad fillers, I'd rather the money
was spent on a couple more academy prospects who might become
first team regulars rather than a player who only gets a bench
spot if we have a spate of injuries at wing/fullback
