I agree, I still think its just a story to get the best deal for
him (which is fine)

according to National press this morning BT want to keep
relegation

The was coming a mile off. Expect an exodus of players too.
What a shambles.

Lancaster, Cockerill, CoS want to abandon a good post and dive
into a club that is malfunctioning at a time when you cant
travel, so anything etc and enter a dressing room that has been
"lost". Any immediate replacement would be from left field and
hopefully temporary - until league format and COVID resolved.

Agree FT appointment will be next season, when Diamond would be
available. Cockeril unlikely to move given recent extension and
family commitmemts.
But a temp contract might tempt a motivational coach, like
Cheika!

sense at all. Likewise the "England internationals looking to
leave". No direct quotes, nothing to back it up. If Smith had
been offered around, or Marler/others had requested a move I
expect this would have been more widely reported. The whole
Marler thing seems to be based on a rumour from one source
(Planet Rugby). If anything, I would say PG going now would
make it more likely that the players mentioned would stay (In a
kind of him or us way).

release. This all kind of backs up the no relegation this
season story (despite what the Sale chap had to say). As for
the finances, one thing that was reported around was that we
were in a decent place (along with about 5/6 other sides) so Im
not sure that stacks up with the layers wanting out rumours. My
guess is that would be more of a players not happy with the set
up situation

We have had 2 underperforming DoR/coaches in succession. My
guess is the club will take its time to try and not mess this up
again.
The last time I saw Quins looking like a cohesive unit was CoS's
final season, before he announced his resignation. It was
downhill from there on. It got particularly bad at the end of
JK's time and hasn't really improved much under Gustard.
I have no inside knowledge as to where ths issues lie though.

Why would they now all leave if the problem (PG) has now gone??

This line looks like he will be announced as doing something
else soon.
‘that he will leave with immediate effect to enable him to
pursue other opportunities.’

I would not be happy with Diamond as a replacement. Not sure
about Lancaster. I was happy to see him get the England job
after his work with the Saxons. Didn't really like what I saw
with England - in fact I think there are similarities with
Gustard. He seems to be doing well with Leinster, but not in the
top job.
Would be happy to give Ben Ryan a crack. I wonder if Evans will
apply?

If true, this may have been the catalyst for the club to act. To
lose Marcus and Joe x 2 would be devastating for the squad and a
sign that we are not after all aspirational. We need to be
building a team around Marcus and Marchant with Marler there as
an old hand now
Lancaster isn't the man IMHO, a good number 2 but he isn't DoR
material as he proved with England. Come back Deano, all is
forgiven!

Yeah it doesn't sound like PG is much loved by the players to
me. I think the majority would be v interested in seeing who
Quins bring in rather than trying to sign for other clubs -
especially as the salary cap reduces and increased wages looks
like a thing of the past.
Smith can be touted about but clubs have got big decisions
surrounding Salary cap space. Where's he realistically going to
go (Bath maybe but they don't look in much better shape than us
and when you look at both squads you'd say they are under
achieving far more than us)
