There is unlikely to be anyone else coming forward this season
and we will have Billy Millard as acting DOR. After all its one
less salary to pay.

Good luck to Gussie, shame it didn’t workout but c’est la vie.
Hope whoever comes in can keep the key youngsters and build a
competitive and motivated team with what we have and can bring
in, just don’t want another set of lame excuses after each
dismal performance .....

I'd love Lancaster to come in as the long term replacement. He
was my first choice last time around and my view has not
changed.

Honestly didn't see this happening during the season, thought if
he was to leave then it would be at the end.
But as others have said, it's hugely concerning if we are
offering out Marcus Smith. Regardless of finances, Smith is
someone we should be looking to constantly have a contract
extension and build a team around. Offering him to rivals is
insanity and I hope it's not true.
If the Daily Mail is right with players like Marler and Marchant
wanting to leave then this is massively worrying and something
really isn't right at the club.
Wish Gustard all the best.

What do you think he would bring to make us successful?

I can't see Deano wanting to leave Newcastle at the moment, but
the way the RFU's finances are we might be able to get Conor
O'Shea back.

Totally agree. No DOR coming into save us. The club are
obviously drawing the gates up and consolidating. The Daily Mail
article says that Stooke turned us down, I can only think that
this was over wages or hearing that the players were not behind
Gustard.
I cannot see any real signings or players coming in with no long
term DOR. Unless they want to see how Millard goes and appoint
him as the new DOR at for next season. What every that next
season looks like. COVID does not look to be ending anytime
soon!!!

If Smith was being offered, maybe that's why Gustard left. Same
with the other players - if there's no money, but ring fencing
guarantees tv income, then perhaps the club is going for a reset
to build to be competitive in 2-3 years time.
Obviously we can't be competitive if we let our best players go,
but moving on some older heads on big money isn't the worst idea
when belts are being tightened all around.

Rather than just letting him leave, to OFFER him is utter
madness, even more mad than usual for Quins. The one probably
world class player in recent times we’ve produced, letting him
go shows no vision from the club (which we already don’t seem to
have). Letting Marler and Marchant go also won’t renew many
season tickets.
My negativity was often chastised but it seems for all the rose
tinted posts over the months, even they can see now the club is
a right Titus Bramble.

Maybe PG was asking about his contract extension (3 year
original deal I think?) and the powers above said actually Paul
there is no extension as results have been inconsistent. He then
looks for other roles, quite rightly, finds one and the board
allow him to leave ASAP (cut costs) and he gets to go and coach
Wales D?
