If as the Times is reporting (Gussys contract was not to be
renewed), then I see no way he could continue to put his all
into the club. They are showing him no respect.
I suspect the senior players have been one of the driving force
behind all of this. The clique of Brown, Ashton & Care is always
going to be hard to contain and manage.
If relegation is to be brought in, then yes, as DOK has pointed
out, the club has given up on Gustard and his drive to change
       the culture.
Sad ending for a genuinely honest and likable DOR. If it wasn't
for the Pandemic, I could see things being different for him.
However, lets send him off with a good Quins send-off.
I cannot see anyone being appointed. Why outlay that amount of
cash, especially with the pandemic not looking like ending
       anytime before 2022!

I think like others have said, PG wasnt having his contract
renewed, players were less than happy with him so why drag it
       out. This suits everyone.
Now PG is gone, the next team selection could be interesting,
will Ashton be back in the mix, will he still leave?? Does Brown
regret going now (did he have a choice anyway).
I know people are pointing to finances being dire, based on
players leaving (which is all rumour apart from Lang and Young,
and I think they would have gone anyway), but Care is apparently
staying, so things cannot be that bad!!! I think the issues are
purely down to the playing side, rather than financial side. We
are fortunate to have great backers.

Is someone able to post the text (rather than a link) for the
       Times article, please?

Could it be the opposite? Ashton, Brown etc all in support of
Gustard and the they are angry with the board/management?
PG would have had nothing to do with money etc?
Clearly PG is a very competitive coach and the underlying issues
       he could not deal with?

For me the jury was still out on PG. If, as suspected the senior
players were behind this, then I sure as hell expect to see a
vast improvement from them on the field next time.
Also, it's not PG giving away yellow cards on nearly every game,
and that despicable red. I wouldn't have been unhappy to have
seen PG stay and the three amigos, Care, Brown and especially
       Ashton leaving town.

It was PG that dropped Ashton, not the Board.

Ashton was his signing! A lot of blame seems to be thrown on
       Ashton?
What is interesting when looking at Quins- very few players have
left Quins onto a better and bigger club and more success. I
wonder if Quins is all too an easy environment for the players.
Good enough to stay up, good enough to win enough matches.
PG maybe rocking the boat. Kicking game a huge change
etc.....Maybe he has started the revolution that was needed. We
have been here before when ME took over.
Maybe he has not done it quick enough!

I agree that the players owe us a performance. If PG was the
issue then they have no excuse now.
Didnt the same thing happen with JK when he left?? "Player
power" so to speak?? If this is what has happened...that twice
in a row the players have done this, maybe they need to look at
       themselves also

Has Ashton been dropped? If you look back quiet often Ashton is
either unavailable for selection or injured......
Players he has regularly not selected have been Tex, Green, ML,
Taps this season. Taps only got game time due to AE’s
       suspension!

Fair point, although he has disappeared pretty quickly after his
Racing performance!!!. Esp with Earle being injured
