Gloucester go from 3rd to 7th to bottom. Saints are having
similar issues. Even Sale and Wasps have been fairly up and
down. Exeter and Sarries are really the only two consistently

I happen to think part of the problem here is that modern rugby,
particularly at club level, is just a bit pony, and really not
that entertaining to watch most of the time. Bristol buck the
trend there, as do Exeter (IMO at least, I know some disagree)
but for a lot of teams' fans, I'd say the majority of the time
they're just watching... boring/bad rugby.
You can excuse a lot of faults if you at least get to see some
razzle dazzle. Modern rugby sucks.
(This isn't intended as a defence of Gustard - things are a mess
at Quins regardless)

Well I hope the team respond to this as they should it’s time
for the leadership group and senior players to really grip this
now.
Whoever comes in we can expect a shakeup of coaches and players
I hope they appoint someone during this season to take over at
the end of it. So they have chance to observe and see where they
can makes quick wins.
I do believe players must take some of the can for this as they
should have with JK, two different personalities and styles with
same net result!
Or had PG left because his squad were being sold aroundhim?

Yes. I agree.
My overriding impression is that we’ve had a poor group of
entitled players for several years now and whoever coaches us is
on a hiding to nothing. I think Gustard is a bit of a bluffer,
but I got the distinct impression he was continually frustrated
... much like Kingston was before him. Talented players with bad
attitudes are hard to manage.
Who is going to want to join Quins when we’re being run by a GM?
I’m sure Billy Millard is a nice bloke, but he certainly isn’t
the guy to be managing our recruitment going in to a new season.
We have a LOT of players that are coming to the end of their
contracts that need to be moved on but they also need replacing.
This is going to set us back years. Keeping Gustard was
definitely the lesser of two evils IMO.

Millard has a pretty solid track record as a coach if you ignore
the frequent job hopping - it's not like he's a career
administrator.

When Billie and Gussie joined the Club Billie’s vision and the
way he spoke was far clearer than Gussie’s. I found Gussie very
defensive about I no not what from the outset when talking at
meetings to supporters.

Am I the only one that's bothered about the whole "lost the
dressing room" rumour? If you don't like the DoR, fine – you're
within your rights to go and talk to the CEO (and hopefully the
CEO will tell you to go talk to the DoR). But if that's leaking
out, it's down the players gossiping. And that shows the kind of
lack of character amongst the players which any decent DoR is
going to have to stamp out pretty quickly when they come in.

Couldn't agree more. Gustard definitely deserves his share of
blame, but I'm not convinced that the players attitude is right.

As fair as that might be, I don’t think any of us would have
been happy had he been appointed head coach.

This, more than anything else, this. A lot of people dont get
the idea that the modern game is dull precisely because it has
become a business. People won't like this, but there was a lot
of excitement in the amateur game because it was amateur.
Adventurous play prospered when people's livelihoods did not
depend on what happened at 3pm on a Saturday. This isn't a bad
case of nostalgia by the way, but an emphasis of the point that
if you make a game professional, you must expect the people
playing it to put their personal interests, rather than the
interests of fans first.
