Ealing beat sarries in the 1st game of the mini tournament they
organised.

I personally would have Ealing and Sarries in the premiership
and then ringfence it all off. Other than those clubs no one
else realistically will be able to compete coming up from the
championship. Whilst Ealings ground would probably be below
standard they do have money behind them. The gulf in quality is
evidenced by the usual cycle of Relegated > same team in the
league 2 seasons later. Might as well cut that rubbish out now

Ealing Trailfinders 27 Saracens 26..... what a fantastic
result... well done Ealing!
I agree MQ.... it is the right time to ring fence the
Premiership. Right for player welfare, right for club investors,
right for England rugby and player development. And I don't
think there would be too many 'dead rubbers' if it is set up
properly. We can then finally take on the Irish clubs with a
level playing field.

Wasnt a bad Sarries team either, although only a friendly.
Think they will up it when the real stuff starts

What an awful thread. It just serves to remind me that I haven't
eaten anything sugary or sweet for around 4 months, which as a
chronic chocoholic is probably the longest period in my adult
life of going without.
I'm currently craving flapjacks.

Clubs develop and progress others go backwards. Form ebbs and
flows that’s the beauty and excitement of a competitive
structure. Clubs like Pirates deserve an opportunity and
supporters the hope of doing a Wuss or Chiefs.

A great result and despite a few online making comments about
Sarries England players being missing, this was also by no means
Ealing's first team.
Having watched it, two things struck me.
1. Ealing HAVE to be involved if ringfencing happens.
2. Billy Vunipola is currently very unfit. At this stage, should
the 6Ns happen, he shouldn't be near the squad (he will be and
he'll start).

I haven’t been impressed by Billy in an England shirt for a
while now.

Agreed Quintron
I'm of the opinion that if the premiership is to be ringfenced
it should be done on a geographical basis.
I'm not entirely sure therefore that Ealing is the best fit.
Another Northern team or maybe Pirates might make more sense
than another team in SW London

Agreed there are many areas devoid of professional rugby -
Norwich and East Anglia for instance a desert awaiting a
Trailfinder benefactor.
