Sure. But £10 an hour is a decent wage for the work. It’s the
going rate for cleaners and babysitters and plenty of other
       jobs.
I’d guess the reason we don’t attract anyone is it’s a rare
thing for anyone to want to do and probably more the sort of
thing you’d do for a laugh rather than as a vital way of making
       ends meet.

Fair point, but then I’m also sure that there are people who
will do anything to make ends meet

Looking through that long job description & everything required
to be an entertainer, being a superhero to kids, & a kind of
cheerleader, is a bit more than just turning up as a labourer or
a cleaner. They do heck of a lot more than the stewards for
example. Just saying. £10 per hour seems a pathetic wage to me.

Money aside - the bears have been rubbish since they changed
       their outfits.
Seemed a bit better on Saturday than the previous two seasons.
Last year the one with the drum couldn't even beat it in time to
       "Harlequins...clap, clap, clap"

My daughter just started in the shop on matchdays, she'd love to
       get £10 and hour.

       I did some searching
"Paul Pierson -- a mascot for the Atlanta Braves and Harlem
Globetrotters -- said the Braves paid him $65 per game. Detroit
Tigers Mascot Erin Blank reports that he earned $45 per game as
a minor league mascot. The lowest paid mascot quoted in the
interview was former D.C. United mascot Peter Lund, who only
       took home $40 per game."
Mascots for the NFL, etc seem to be the highest paid. Some are
full-time jobs and it is reported that they can earn > $100k per
year - but, generally, earn a figure of around $100 per game or
$100 per day (giving an estimated salary of approx $25k if they
       were fulltime).
So, £10 an hour looks in line with the averages.
In a way, it is a really difficult thing to measure. I am sure
that some people are super-fans and would happily do it for free
and would be extremely good. Potentially, paying a professional
entertainer may not be such a good move as they may have no
       actual interest in the club.
For example, the guy from Quinsa (Clive Munton?) is basically a
mascot and I would be surprised if he gets paid for flag waving,
       etc.

The NFL mascots get a lot better pay than the cheerleaders,
       that's for sure:

But also -- the NFL mascots are really good, football games go
on for HOURS and they actually do loads of stuff during the
       game.
Our bears appear max twice a game, fart about a bit and vanish.

Sorry, the club is losing money hand over fist isn't it?
