Harlequins speedster Chris Ashton has been rumoured to be “on
his way” to Worcester Warriors, according to The Eggchasers
Podcast.

on Mondays, revealed the link.
Jonathan Beardmore of the podcast said: “I have heard, from a
pretty reliable source, that Chris Ashton is on his way to
Worcester.”

Wouldn't surprise me at all. Never really worked out. In
retrospect it seems an odd signing. He was never picked as first
choice or even as preferred bench option. He was presumably on a
fair bit of cash. I suspect his comments on the BBC Pod sealed
his fate. I think his comments were fair enough, but I guess
your coach isn't going to thank you if you publicly criticise
the team's attitude and mentality.
If Gustard now won't pick him because he doesn't like the
criticism, that reflects badly on Gustard in my opinion. Coaches
should welcome some home truths, especially from someone coming
in from outside, having played for some successful clubs. If he
won't pick him because the criticism was made on a public
podcast, that is fair enough.

I think that this should be viewed in the context that there
looks to be a power struggle in the squad. Gustard is breaking
apart the veterans as can be seen by Brown heading off to
Newcastle and Marler supposedly handing in his transfer request.
I think that Care and Ashton are super tight too, so I would not
be surprised to see Care move on too.
Seems like there is civil war going on at the club!

Should never have been signed in the first place. Something not
very special happening at Quins.

I don't think that Ashton has been properly fit since arriving.
I think that he reported that he had long-Covid.

I wouldnt pick him based on his woeful performance when he came
on against Racing. I think that reflected much worse on him
than anything on PG.

That's fair enough, but on that basis quite a few of our players
wouldn't get picked. On that basis the team who played Worcester
away last year shouldn't get picked, Baldwin wouldn't have been
picked again, etc. I'm not denying that he was awful, but he's
far from the only player to have put in dreadful performances
for us

But to play like that, then come out and say what he said was
wrong imho. If it came from say, Smith, I would think fair
enough. He is talking the talk and walking the walk. Ashton had
a lot to say and then went out and put in a pretty shameful
performance. If you are going to spout off and have a pop, be
able to back it up

Not done too much since he's been here really.
Best to use his budget for someone who wants to
play inmo.

He's a lazy primadonna.
I don't care what he's done previously for other clubs. If you
compare the stats for this season, Murley has had around 50%
more carries per minute on the pitch, and Earle is closer to
double. They go looking to get involved and have time on the
ball. Christ only knows what Ashton goes looking for during the
games he's played for us. His next media opportunity, maybe?
