Out of interest do we have any indication of what Brown is on at
Quins. I thought it was around the 250k mark from the last
contract prior to COVID - 19

Valid point. Newcastle have one of the smallest budgets in the
league so likely Brown would have to take a significant haircut
on his salary.
In terms of replacement I would like to see us recruit a quality
operator who can play at 15 but also cover 10, as this would
solve two issues for us.
Lynagh might well be the long term successor to Brown but in the
short term I expect we will continue to see more of him on the
wing than full back as Gustsard eases him in to regular first
team action.

Is Lynagh going to stay and play for Quins/England? Younger
brother has gone back to Oz to ply his trade. Michael has
Italian wife but non committal when he and Louis were on the
zoom meeting in about Oct about where their future was.

Looks to be a back up / challenger flyhalf. From those
highlights, he seems to be a good talent. So someone to really
challenge Smith.
Should be nice and cheap too. Opening up money for some
replacements in the second row and back row.

I'd like to see the continuation of Gustard's
recently-discovered bravery in throwing some of the youngsters
into the starting XV (tbh his hand has mostly been forced but
Tizard, Musk, Head, Lynagh have all stepped up when called
upon). I really think now is the time to give Lynagh a decent
run in the 15 shirt - if you're good enough, you're old enough.
Brownie has looked well off the pace in recent games and could
probably do with the rest, whilst helping to prepare Lynagh in
training. If 15 is where his long-term future is (and I'm not
Gustard but I believe it is) then start giving him time in the
shirt - that's how he'll learn quickest. As someone said above,
Morris and Chisholm have never managed to prise the shirt away
from Brown, but Lynagh definitely has the potential to establish
himself at the back... if given the chance.

It will be interesting to see what position Gustard sees for
Green in the long run. Didn't he play 10, 15 and wing for Lions?
