Just seen on twitter. Deano keen to get brown up there for next
season. That's it really - no suggestion there have been talks.

As much as it would be a shame to see him go to another club, it
certainly isn't the loss it would've been a few seasons ago.
The disappointing aspect for me is that we haven't really had
anyone coming through and challenge him for his position (same
as with Danny Care).
Maybe young Lynagh is the future at FB?

It’s front page of TRP this morning that Deano has asked Brownie
up to play for a year for a year before he starts coaching. Also
says Gussie has assembled an array of FBs to replace him Ashton,
Morris and Ross Chisholm. The former maybe his signing but the
others aren’t nor are they real replacements to me.

Morris and Ross Chisholm." I hope that's just rank bad
journalism (making inane assumptions, finding something to fill
copy space) rather than in any way, shape or form reflecting
Gustard's thinking. If not, it's very depressing. Ashton we need
gone from the club ASAP. And even without his attitude issues,
he's too frail and uncommitted, especially defensively. And
Morris and Chisholm are distinctly average, second/third choices
at best.

A good way of maintaining your fee by starting a rumour
Also seems odd that as cover they fail to mention Green, or
maybe that just shows lack of knowledge by the writer

Can’t see this happening at all. Brown’s got potentially one
more season after this one of top level rugby, and even that
might be a bit optimistic. Can’t see him moving his family up to
Newcastle for a season and I’m not sure Newcastle’s 4g pitch
would do his knees any favours.

TRP also mentions a chap from Cardiff Met, Rich Bennett. He is a
WG/Cen and has spent 5 weeks with Quins. They (cardiff met) are
hopeful we will be offering him a deal.
I think people get too caught up about Brown/Cares replacements.
I am pretty sure PG will not be planning on using
Chisholm/Morris/Landajo as replacements. For Brown I expect us
to bring in a replacement when he goes. Lynagh will be a future
option. Green I see as a replacement for Chisholm/Lang (as in
he can cover 3/4 positions). For Care we have Steele and the
kiwi chap (although I have no idea what he is like). We could
start with Steele, but I would also not be surprised to see a SH
come in (esp as I think Landajo will be off). Stressing about
not having replacements now is pointless, as we have no idea
what PGs plans are.

Our last two signings from Cardiff Met have turned out pretty
well and I can imagine he’ll be pretty cheap so could be a good
signing.
The new kiwi scrum half is meant to be a decent young player
with some experience of top level rugby. From what I’ve seen I
think he could form a pretty good partnership with Smith.

I tried googling Rich Bennett. I could only find Russell Bennett
who plays at fly half.
