Imho, when DC plays with intensity , like the first 20 mins or
so yesterday, passes rather than continually kicking he has
much still to offer.
Steele is I think a better option compared to Landajo in the
future.
Lynagh had a good game, was out of position for the last Try,
but in general tackled well, looked strong and will only get
better the more he plays.
I think that Lang is massively underrated by a lot of people but
rarely disappoints when he gets a chance, not the biggest centre
but offers a better kicking option than some of the bigger boys
we have, often takes the longer kicks to touch when he’s on....
Signing another big lock is something I have wanted for ages,
Tizard and Hammond look promising for the future but do need to
build some bulk.
Still think we need to look after and re sign Marcus and
Dombrandt asI think the vultures will be starting to
circle.........

Remember, Lynagh typically plays at full back. Playing at wing
will be new to him.
I would be thinking very seriously about starting him at FB
instead of Brown in the next game.
Care seems to be copping a lot of flack for his game yesterday.
I thought that he was pretty good until initially.
But, I think they are telling Care that he needs to conserve
energy as he needs to be thinking about playing for 80 minutes
as there is a lack of confidence with Landajo.
I would like to see Steele start and Care to come on for 20
minutes or so in the second half. I think that he could be a
real game-changer in this role.
I'm not sure where Green will fit in to the lineup. I suspect
that he will be a utility back to come on from the bench for
some time to come.
Ideally, we need something like an a-league so that some of
these fringe players can get a run of games and we can see what
they can do.

Not sure about that. Through age group rugby, full back tends
to be a more defensively aware position than wing, and the back
three would be working as a system anyway, covering each other's
roles as necessary, so a good understanding of wing would be
expected. The move from full back to wing tends to be easier
than the opposite.

I think Lang put in a defensive shift like no other yesterday,
he'd be a keeper for me as he could cover so many positions. I
think Care is done, as is Brown. I wish them good luck and a
payday somewhere. In truth there are probably about 10 players
in the squad that are worth building a new team around but we'll
never do that because we are a 6 to 8th place team forever!

We need to keep Lang, as I think he’s rarely let himself down.
We need to get rid of Taps and Campagnaro (has he even played?).
The problem with the club having good young players like Smith,
Lynagh, Lang etc is eventually they will want to play for a more
complete team looking to achieve rather than what we are
currently which is a one good game in 5 type side

To be fair, at centre (excluding Lang) we currently have:
12: Esterhuizen, Lasike, Tapuai
13: Marchant, Northmore, Campagnaro, Anyanwu (who I think could
also play 12 readily)
That's a lot of quality for Lang to compete with just to get
into the 23 each week - and as an international I can see why
he'd want a clearer sense that he will start a decent % of
games. Even if Lang, Tapuai and Campagnaro were to all leave, I
still think we would have one of the best rosters of centres in
the Prem - and we could reprioritise the wages of Lang + Taps +
Campagnaro elsewhere.
If he does go, my only concern is we use some of that money to
sign a proper backup 10 (which we've needed for a while anyway).

We also have another chap in the Academy, Oscar Beard. He will
be a year older come next season and if it is the fella I am
thinking of, he is quite promising.

The Rugby paper are saying that Wasps are now the favorites to
sign Elliot Stooke.
They want him to replace Will Rowlands who is moving to Wales.
Shame if true as we could do with someone of his calibre and
size.
