TRP says Lang is joining Richard Cockerill isn’t he at EDI?!

Elliott Stooke would definitely add some size to the second row
with the added bonus that we'd be unlikely to lose him during
internationals. Shame about Lang but can't blame him if that
will better his Scotland chances.

Never doubted Lang was a talented player - however never quite
seen how he fits into our starting 15 to get the best out of
him. Pleased for him to have made the Scotland set up, with a
move to Scotland being a good result for both parties as I see
it.

Scotland don't take the same approach as Ireland or Wales
though. As they only have two teams, it’s actually more
beneficial for them to be flexible on where players are based.
Obviously the likes of Hogg and Gray would be picked wherever
they play, but playing for Newcastle and Gloucester hasn’t
limited Chris Harris’s opportunities for example.
Ultimately, it looks like a good move for everyone involved, but
Lang doesn’t have to move to play for Scotland.

Stroke is an excellent big second row. Just what we need. I have
been hoping for a while that we could get him. He can't be happy
sitting on the bench with McNally and Ewels starting all the big
games.
Let's hope the deal can be done amongst others.

Linking Lang's move to a Scottish team to strengthen his
international credentials also shines a spotlight on Steele.
More so if DC is extending his contract. Steele needs to be the
starting No9 with DC/Landajo coming off the bench.
Steele wants to be a regular Scottish international and if we
don't give him game time and the opportunity to develop he will
also go. The prospect of another season of DC & Landajo as
starters makes my head explode - they were both outplayed by
Randall yesterday.

Would be very happy if we could get Stooke, a big aggressive
unit to rotate with Symons and Lewies, is exactly what we need.
Also would allow Tizard and Hammond to add a bit more size and
strength before they’re playing first team regularly.
Would be disappointed if Lang went but would completely get it
if it’s related to potential lack of game time when everyone’s
healthy.

Agree, he doesn't... but as an 'English' Scotland player it
certainly shows commitment and not just picking up Scotland caps
because he doesn't think he'll play for England.

I'd rather like care to start playing 22 and rotating. He hasn't
been an 80 minute player for some time now. Steele looks like a
player who could start in the prem. Landajo doesn't.
Steele, Smith, ester, Marchant would be the makings of a good
backline. Lynagh looked excellent yesterday, I'd like to see him
get a run of games. Concerned about our quality in the back 3,
brown is not the player he once was.
