I'm wondering what a coach needs to achieve to become world
       class?

experience at the top level he has given no sign he has the

       coach.

Er, I believe he has been defence coach with a very successful
Sarries and England. In my book they count as signs he has the
potential to be an above average Premiership coach.

Yes, but that's one of the best teams in the 6N and one of the
best teams in the prem (for whatever reasons). I wonder if his
record would be different if he'd handled Italy and London
Irish. I'm not picking on the guy, and I appreciate the people
who say we've now got something we can build on, but how long do
you give someone to build a winning team, 5 years? 3 years to
get wholly the team you want and then 2 more years to build on
that? Pretty sure Exeter and Bristol put their winning teams
       together in less than that.
Anyway, I am relying on our maddening inconsistency to give us a
decent win tomorrow. And if that isn't a good game then there's
       Munster vs Leinster at 19:35.
       Come on you Quins!

Comes down to the usual to me, Which Quins turn up. Last week it
did not mater as much, no matter which Quin turned up we would
prob have lost. This week, if we play well we have a great
chance of winning. There are some really good players in our
side, all down to how we perform. The first 5 mins will prob
tell us if its going to be a long afternoon or not!!

Difficult question to answer. I have become convinced (by
general observation, no particular knowledge of what goes on
inside the camp) that the issue with Quins is one of culture. It
can take a long time to change culture. I don’t know if Gustard
is doing it or not but we’re not seeing much evidence on the
pitch yet. If there are no clear signs by the end of the season,
I’d probably conclude that he’s not the man to bring the change
       we need.

Yes, it's a pickle, to be sure. The three people who most
changed Harlequins culture were Mark Evans (who dragged us as a
club kicking and screaming into the professional era). Dean
Richards who seemed able to impose his will on players and Conor
O'Shea who had less of an impact but got the "Harlequins way"
idea going. John Kingston unfortunately suffered from being a
cut price promotion from within. I mean, you could maybe say
Dick Best in the amateur era, but he ended up with the dressing
room revolt that gave us Andy Keast. Andy was a great video
analyst (ahead of his time in many ways) but never really
grabbed the dressing room by the throat.
