Hand definitely went backwards for the try, although the ball
went a mile forward. One of the angles didn't look too bad
either. Would have liked the ref to look at it some more.

Still in it, certainly not a bad showing so far. Not really
conducive to a good brand of flowing rugby so hopefully we can
grind something out for the second half.

It rankles to hear an Irish TMO say “I’m going to show you a
forward pass...” That’s not the TMO’s job. “I’m going to show
you the best angle I’ve got” would be better.
How Quins weather the next 10 minutes will be the measure of
this game. I thought the yellow was harsh: Beirne had released
the ball, but no ruck was formed (the next Irish player was
still arriving), so there’s a good argument that the ball was in
open play rather than in the tackle area. But it is what it is.
Quins have had the worst of it in most areas but are still only
6 points down. If they can weather the YC period, then they
might just be able to sneak something.
That said, given you probably need 4 BP wins to qualify, it
probably won’t count for anything.

The character that the boys are showing is admirable. Louw,
Marler and Baldwin are doing a grand job of leading the defence.
