I'd say it was silly niggle rather than thuggery. Sort of thing
that happened all the time but just idiotic with so many
cameras. Anything more than 3-4 week ban I think would be
       excessive. Utterly brainless though

Don't know if he has a good or bad disciplinary record but it
was a deliberate elbow to the head who I don't think could
       protect themselves.
Think most on here would be asking for the max if it happened to
       one of our players.
Really disappointed as he was having a very good match!

Sometimes, when I pick my nose, it can set off a nose bleed of
biblical proportions, so the amount of blood isn't an indication
of the severity, if that is what you're referring to; his action
fully deserved a red card and he might even make it back home to
       SA for a Christmas break...

Well it happened right in front of Ian Tempest, who saw nothing,
& I couldn’t see anything from the multiple replays either. Both
players were on the ground from what I saw. Just hope it’s dealt
with properly. Thought Botta was totally stupid holding the
Gloucester props leg in the ruck earlier in the game.

Not at all clear to me but the TMO was most insistent leaving
Tempest with no choice, not something that I would want to
adjudicate on although many on here are pretty convinced of his
       guilt.

Its pretty clear his elbow caught him, you can see it on the
clip from the far side of the pitch. I think it will come down
to was it a full on whack or did he lean into him. That could
be more difficult to work out

Harlequins director of rugby Paul Gustard:
"Sometimes it's initially harder to play against 13 men as it
takes time to work what adjustments the other team have made in
       terms of defence.
"Andre is a big man and is a physical player but it looked more
of an arm-wrestle to me and it took four-and-a-half minutes of
replays to make the decision to send him off after their player
       alerted the referee to it."

I wouldn't describe it as a lean. You can see in reasonable
close-up from one of the main camera angles the action of his
arm, although not the contact with the face from that particular
       camera.

when you pick your nose do you give yourself a concussion? he
       failed an HIA.
I don't think anyone is served by downplaying this. It took a
while to find the angles but the ones they found show him
striking downwards with a braced elbow. We know it was enough
force to damage his nose and cause him a brain injury. It was
dirty - not niggly - and he deserves to cop a decent ban for it.
There's absolutely no reason for that behaviour.
