need to know that Green is a capable stand-in at this level.

I totally agree. We have signed that ex-7's guy as FH cover, but
I would expect him to be behind Herron. Does anyone know when
Herron is expected back?

The problem is Evans is our only genuine openside, so I'm not
sure PG has the luxury of rotating him. Agree though that Evans
has become a key fixture in the side.
He has been arguably our best player since lockdown.
I remain hopeful that the club are keeping their eyes peeled for
another back rower, even if it's short term. We're only an
injury or two away from a full blown crisis.

I really hope we go there to play, like last week, and don’t
spend 70 minutes, until it’s too late, hoofing it up in the air.

could have don with Marler back from England duty and Lewies to
be fit. It seems to be a genuine rotation on the back row, but
I'm beginning to think that Evans is going to be a key figure in
Gussys plans, so I expect he's not going to be rotated as much
as others.

Esterhuizen & Northmore working well last week. It'll be good
competition for places when Marchant is back and Campagnaro fit,
and competition for places will help to push them all on. Steele
needs to back up his performance last week to show he's
challenging DC.

In fairness, PG may think he knows that Green can stand in at
this level, thats the important thing

Regarding back row cover, wonder if someone like Tony Lamborn
could be an option. Played with the Auckland Blues last season
but not in their squad for the coming season so seemingly
available.

We were linked with De Carpienter. I am sure we are looking,
maybe just not found the right one yet.

Is Kenningham ready to step up? He looked pretty handy from the
little I've seen of him so far and we do seem to be blooding
youngsters again after what felt like a bit of a dry spell in
terms of talent coming through... Evans is easily one of the
first names on the team sheet now though - he and Esterhuizen
are already proving to be very good signings. The types of
signings we've been crying out for for a number of years.
