Apart from a sticky spell when the subs came on, I thought we
were very good today.
Care, Smith, Esterhuizen and Dombrandt were all much, much
better than they have been in recent times. More of that please
lads.
Special mention for Tizard for an excellent debut. On that
evidence, I’d be very happy to see him partner up with Lewies in
Symons absence.
On the negative side, Botta is such a liability from a
discipline POV. He can be relied upon to give a couple of dumb
penalties away every game. Gray’s timing on the lineout was
disastrous when he arrived.

Not just the win that's pleasing, but the attacking intent. Ball
in hand leads to 6 tries. Agree with all the individual
accolades mentioned above. Thought lawday had his best game in a
while too

Yep, and it came close to costing us. It seems to be part of the
soft underbelly of this team/squad. It's such a shame as we
played really well for much of the game. Still, way more
positives today than negatives. Top marks for Tizard for making
our lock situation look better than we thought and
Brickouthuizen continues to look like a great signing.

The good thing about AE...if he were to pick up a knock, we
still have Lasike as an almost like for like replacement (in
terms of go forward)

As said above some excellent performances, even from Glen Young.
Who I thought, given the injury to Lewies, played excellently
and helped share the load with Tizard. What a debut from the
young man. Excellent and very mobile second row.
Northampton seemed so flat. They had no direction and class
players like Mitchell and Grayson we're not allowed to play.
Well played Quins, something to build upon. Now come on England.

Ive been critical of Young (in terms of not being convinced he
is Prem quality) but he also had a good game today.

Excellent team performance from our boys today. Really like the
away kit in the flesh too!
Individually, everyone looked up for it and was willing to work
hard for his teammates.
Esterhuizen was exceptional today. He created so much momentum
and space. It allowed us to really throw it around knowing there
would be gaps. Care, Smith and Brown were terrific. Evan's and
Steele might be rapidly becoming my favourite players! They work
so hard for the team. I loved to see that. Baldwin has also
grown into an important player for us in recent months.
Saints may be at a low ebb but we were a match for most today. I
hope we take this style and energy to Kingsholm next week. 49
tully deserved points away from home is going to really going to
create a buzz in training this week.
Well done Quins!!!

Yes, Lasike was a good player last season and will get some time
this season, for sure. Esterhuizen has such brilliant hands and
never seems to give the ball away. He sets up a great platform
for the scrum half. He is solid in defence too.
Our options at 12 and 13 look good.

I thought at the time "even Quins cannot lose, 13 points up with
2 minutes to go" .... or can they?

As others have said, Young was very good. He looked confident in
the LO and was assured in the loose. Tizard was also very
impressive. Louw is a good quality addition too. If Garcia Botta
can stop giving away pens he, too, will have my blessing!!!
