Re the game itself, someone needed to drag Farrell to one side
and tell him to relinquish kicking duties. He had Ford and Daly
both there available, but he decides to keep trying even though
it was clear he was having an off day. That's poor leadership on
       his part.

It seems to be seen as a sign of weakness when a player
relinquishes kicking duties when they can’t hit a barn door as
OF couldn’t yesterday. With Ford, Slade and Daly on the pitch it
seems particularly daft that he didn’t switch responsibility
when he was missing kicks that he’d have made in his sleep.
As to the game, England played dull rugby and looked like a team
that had played much of the same 15 since the Italy match at the
end of October. The difference this week was that the kick chase
was pretty poor and became more desperate as the normally
metronomic Farrell kept missing chances to press home an
advantage/cut the French lead. France played with more get up
and go, Jalibert looked good amongst some others and they played
with a desire to impress and with freedom. Fair enough, they
didn’t have much to lose. That said, they also contributed to
the hoofball plenty themselves, it’s unfair to purely single
England out here. Malins looked a handful when he came on and
Marler acquitted himself very well from what I saw from behind
the posts. Speed of service improved substantially when Robson
came on. Surprise surprise. This far out from a World Cup it
doesn’t concern me but surely EJ needs to look beyond Youngs
       now.
The day itself went well, easy to get in and out. Quick
temperature check, scan of the ticket and in. All well spaced
out across the south and east lower tiers. I was just glad to
see some live rugby again, here’s hoping for a ticket to one of
the upcoming matches at The Stoop.

After the ‘extended’ England/France match I joined a few
colleagues for a free RFU Christmas beer…. or two. Got to the
Prince Albert in time for the start of the second half of the
       Quins match.
Lovely (sunny) day all-round with happy and appreciative NHS and
Local residents to be able to be one of the 2,000 visitors on
       the day.
With some writing-off France before the match and Owen Farrell’s
kicking made the game more interesting going into extra time.
       Lovely day.

       I enjoyed the day too.
I didn't watch the England game.
       Lovely!
