now being in his third season...

In that the excuses are already flowing..... Not impressed,
loads of bluster but no substance.
This year, as people have said, it is his squad so NO reason for
       continuing these poor game
plans, want effort and a bit of 'lets play what we see' not the
apathetic & frustrating performances we have seen time in and
time out over the past few years!
I certainly don't expect us to win all the time but I would like
to see continual effort and a bit of flair on the pitch by the
team, I also think changing coaches every few years isn't the
best policy, however at times performances dictate that a change
       is made.....

He was excellent as a number 2, but it's he ready/capable of
stepping up to be in charge? I think that has to be a question
that is asked. We are playing like headless chickens half the
       time.

As O’Shea neared the end of his time at Quins I think he golden
handcuffed our old and fading star players into the club with
       long and generous contracts.
We are now reaping that legacy, and have done for 1or 2 years
I was worried at the time, and I suspect it has been very
       difficult for Kingston and Gustard

Can't say I happy with progress but also one game in and one
loss to the EU and English champions so will wait a while longer
before I join call for change in mgt. I certainly find this
piece extremely weird, I know you can't always get the players
you want but after two full seasons you must have most of the
team as your decision, most contracts are 3 years so he's the
one chosen the current crop of players.
You cant sit there and blame the age of the team for current
performances. Alarms bells are ringing Mr G, think you need to
be honest with yourself if we are to move forward, age is not
the biggest factor in our poor performance and the reason you
were chosen was to break out of mid to low table performance,
please don't use past performance of old teams as a benchmark or
justification for your lack of success, you were hired to break
       out of that.
I dont think any of us expect to be champions over night or even
expect to be in top 4 each year with such a competitive league
but we do expect some form of improvement, problems that have
been there a while to be addressed, penalties, maul and set
piece are all still pretty woeful. Whilst we lost to so many
mauled tries to Ex it was the stupid penalties we gave them
allowing them to kick for the corner and score in the first
place, if we cant defend a maul and you know that then don't
give them the opportunity to do so, so many times.

I sort of get what he is trying to say though.
I think he recognises that the "team" ethos of the group is not
       there at the moment.
Quins and Saints won the premiership a few years after being
relegated. During the relegation year, both teams got a core of
young players who played for each other and became a strong
team. It sounds as though he is trying to replicate that.
But, I don't think it comes across very well in the article.

It's worth remembering that most of the ins & outs ahead of
Gussie's first season in charge were done by Kingston, not by
Gustard. He made a couple of late additions, but the majority
       were JK's choices.
