Solomons worries about it's impact on South Africa's domestic
league and national team, but what about the impact on ours?
It's probably quicker and cheaper to bring in experience SA
players than to develop your own. The international signings
like Estherhuizen and Louw are arguably different - you are
signing a few star players. But signing people like Kerrod,
Green and Lewies means you don't have to develop the next
       Sinckler, Brown and Robson

Lewies is also a capped international.
Only got a few but then have you seen the locks that SA produce
       ....
Part of the problem may be middle class kids who want to be paid
top salaries without having earned the right to them.
Acadamey/1st contract salaries do seem to have gone up a fair
       bit.
Why shouldn't a SA born player look to maximise their income?
It's up to Rugby SA to come up with more money/non financial
reasons to stay. It probably helps that there are loads of
SAFFAs here already (in general not just in rugby).

It's not helping that there looks like no room for them in Super
Rugby at the moment. Instead they're playing a 7-team domestic
competition where 2 (arguably 3) teams are much weaker than the
others. That doesn't give enough gametime for all their players,
so naturally they'll look to play in other leagues to keep their
       edge.

According to my Saffa friend who has family still there, the
quota system has disillusioned the top players. Same in cricket
I’m told. They are not happy with players being in teams because
they are black rather than good enough. I was listening to the
radio the other day where they were talking about the corruption
in cricket that has just been sorted out. Then they mentioned
the quota system which is enforced in cricket and rugby but
seemingly not in football where there are disproportionately
more black players. My friend informed me that the black
population are not into rugby and cricket that much but football
is their biggest thing. It’s a horribly complicated situation.
As current World Champions with a black captain and roll model I
don’t see what more you could do to inspire the young black kids
to become future top players . If they’re good enough.

Is he English qualified through family, or because he came over
to the UK over three years ago?
