PREMIERSHIP RUGBY RETURNS AS HARLEQUINS NAME TEAM FOR EXETER
CHALLENGE
Thursday, 19th November 2020 @ 12:00
HARLEQUINS NAME TEAM FOR 2020/21 GALLAGHER PREMIERSHIP OPENER AS
EXETER CHIEFS HEAD TO THE STOOP
Harlequins Head of Rugby Paul Gustard has named his first
matchday squad of the 2020/21 season as the Club hosts the
opening round of the new Gallagher Premiership season.
New Club Captain Stephan Lewies will lead for the side for the
first time in his new role, joining fit-again Matt Symons in the
injury room.
Amongst the Game Changers, scrum-half Jack Stafford and Tyrone
Green are set to make their debuts in the Quarters having signed
for the Club mid-way through the 2019/20 season.
Commenting ahead of this Friday’s Premiership clash under Friday
night lights live on BT Sport, Gustard said: "Exeter offer us a
hugely exciting challenge first up. It is not often you start
the season against the reigning Premiership and European
Champions! we are under no illusions of the challenge we face
tonight against an in-form and dangerous triple threat team like
the Chiefs.
"It has been a short turnaround for the squad heading into the
new season, but we have made some solid ground over the last
month. We’ve spent time collaboratively working on a few
critical areas with the aim of further strengthening the
foundations we first started putting in place in 2018, including
both our on-field strategy and, more importantly, our entire
Club ethos and vision."

Thats a tasty injury list.
Only change I would have made is starting Kerrod. I thought he
was excellent at the end of last season.

Fairly happy with that side. Very surprised to see Cowan-Dickie
on the bench for Exeter. I thought he was just recovering from
surgery?

What are we doing to our players in training to have that injury
list? Decent enough starting team but we already look light on
the bench. Some of the regular sick notes on the injured list.
Few injuries away from a crisis on some positions again. Oh
well.
The starting team does look strong though, so hopefully the fact
we've had a longer break than them works in our favour

Thank you Fearless Fred. I have missed the words "Teams Up!"
more than I realised.

With it only being a short turn around, I guess one or two of
those may be injuries hanging over from last season. It could
also be that at the moment we have no need to rush players back,
as you say its a fairly decent side we have out
