Just wondering why Bath have made it clear that they are not
currently in the market for Marcus but neither he, nor Quins are
denying all these rumours?

Tbh I would concern me far more if Quins started giving it air
time.
You almost never see that unless there is truth to it (ibitoye
is a perfect example)

It's rare for either the club or the player to come out and make
a comment based on a rumour or article. If they did, there would
be statements every other day with clubs denying them.

I wouldn't expect either the club or the player to make any
comment, to be honest. It all reads like a case of a few pundits
wanting to get clicks & stringing together some coincidences
into a rumour.

If a player had to comment every time Fissler or Rugby Inside
Line said something they'd have no time for training. They
commented on Kyle and Gabs when those rumours gained substance

Bath aren't allowed to officially talk to a player under
contract to another prem side until January, I believe, so
Hooper has to issue a denial or risk sanctions.
By the same token, from a Quins perspective there's nothing
really to talk about because by definition there can't be any
discussions of substance happening with anyone else, so it makes
sense for them to keep quiet until they have something to
announce.

Plus why does he need to leave? It won't improve his England
chances or trophy cabinet going to Bath and he must be on good
money at Quins.
