       The walk of shame

Out of interest, does anyone recall recently if we still play
over the tannoy “So Long Farewell” if anyone gets sin binned?
Bit of a random thing to ask but can’t remeber hearing it for a
while and hope we still play it, always gives me a jestful
       chuckle

Wasn't played on Friday. But then the announcer had seemingly
forgotten his team sheet, so i wasn't expecting him to know
where all the sound FX buttons are.

I really enjoyed the days when they played "These Boots Are Made
       For Walking".

They stopped playing tha music at least 6 years ago.
I enjoyed it too but apparently the Quins players didn't like it
and thought it to be disrespectful.
Was the PA guy on Friday the same one we had last season?

Yeah he was -- bloke called Mike Bovill -- guess it was a warm
up game for him too. I thought he was very good last year to be
       fair.

Mike Bovill was excellent. His predecessor (Nick Heath) was
excellent too. The one before that wasn't so good - didn't seem
       to "get" rugby

They stopped playing it quite some time ago. I could never
decide whether I thought it was amusing or a bit cringeworthy /
disrespectful. The problem with those things is that if you end
up losing, you look pretty silly playing mocking music, and if
you're winning, it just looks a bit like gloating / being
disrespectful to a beaten opposition. I know it's just meant to
be a bit of fun, but as we moan about the Sarries music and the
fat lady thing, I think it's just as well we dropped it really.
Also, in recent games it's been our players heading off to the
       bin more than the opposition.

I swear I’ve stopped hearing it more recently around the 14/15
season. I understand the whole disrespect thing in rugby to
which I would also never want to disrespect an opponent, but I
felt it was more rugby-esque banter and something to perk the
fans up with a pinch of jestful humour if not anything else. I
wouldn’t go as far as disrespectful though but then again if
that’s the majority of vibe from the recieving end then I guess
that’s maybe why it’s stopped then
