But that is wrong. The three Saturday games are being shown live
on the BT Sport Extra channels as is the other Friday night
game.

Happy to be shot down in flames on this one but I have a feeling
that there are two "categories" of coverage - a top category of
proper coverage with multiple cameras, decent commentators and
full analysis, and a lower category of coverage that shows the
game from one or two cameras and has less well known commenters.
All games are in one of the two categories, and only the more
important/interesting games get the top category.

i.e. what happened for the post-lockdown games last season? It's
generally more than 1-2 cameras for the lesser category though
as they still use a TMO, I believe. And show the game on the
Prem Rugby website 2-3 days later.

I think you are partially correct. From what I have seen the
camera angles are no different from the main games but there is
only one "lesser-known" (but not necessarily worse) commentator
and no analysts (which some might say is an improvement). The
commentary starts just a minute or two before kick-off, is
silent at half-time and ends almost immediately after the final
whistle.
To be honest I have had no problems at all with the games I have
seen covered in this way.

I assume the coverage has to be of good enough standard for the
terrestrial highlights programmes?

The coverage is fine. The only differences are that the
commentators are not as well known and there is no cutting back
to the studio.
But, there are enough cameras for the TMO, the refs have
microphones, etc. This coverage is used for live feeds around
the world. Just not for the UK.

Hoping that means we will get the BT Match Passes for those
without BT Sport (myself included).
