Does anyone think we should have had a look at him?
Proven track record, good player and 3 years younger than
Symons.

Not sure, interesting to see how it pans out. Notice they
signed Thomas as well. Wasnt really that impressed by him. I
expect we will be bringing in another LH, just 3 on the books
and one of them will be away with England. Seems like Van Wyk
is heading to Exeter, considering our TH options, never expected
him to stay.

Not sure why we would have had a look at a player we already
know. He has plenty of potential but never put in consistent
performances.

I wish him well at Worcester, but don't feel we've missed out.
He's certainly not getting in our first XV ahead of Lewies and
Symons and wouldn't be a massive improvement on our back up
options.
I'd rather see us make one or two top quality signings and fall
back on the academy if needed as oppose to pad out the squad
with multiple okay signings (no offence to Merrick).

I agree that Thomas didn't exactly pull up any trees during his
(short) time here.
I guess the question on Merrick is whether he is better than
Cavubati (33) or Young (26).
Symons and Cavubati are both the wrong side of 30 and we are
quite reliant on Symons as the enforcer type lock.

It would be good to know if Merrick developed much while he was
at ASM.
Does anyone know how much game time he got there?

Are we talking about Maks van Dyk? A prop we signed as temporary
injury cover and never really used?
It’ll be highly annoying if he turns out to be good, but as it
stands, I’m not going to get upset about a player we barely saw
and was only ever supposed to be with us on a temporary basis.
Let’s not forget Exeter signed Stan South and I’m not sure he’s
ever played for their first team. Going there is not a guarantee
of individual success.

Van Wyk may do well but I am more than happy with Louw, Kerrod,
Collier and Trenier tbh
Re South, he played a few games for Exeter but not many, had a
spell on loan at Edinburgh (think he played one or two.).
Announced yesterday that he has joined Brive in France
