Furbank's gone backwards since he was first selected. Bizarre to
ignore Willis if he's fit.

Possibly a tactical selection - Jones perhaps doesn't think the
breakdown will be the most hotly contested aspect of the game
against Italy; apart from which, he has two able jackals that
can also carry well and are possibly fresher than Willis. Had
either of them not been available, you'd think he'd have surely
walked in. I think he'll feature in the Autumn Thing, if it
happens...

When was the last time that Quins didn't have a single player in
the 23, and why do cheating Salarycens make up 1/3rd of the
starting 15??

Well if they had cheated but not with top internationals many
people may have just laughed at them instead of wanting them
kicked out off the division.
So maybe they should have quite a few in the squad!

So if Quins players don't get the nod this autumn, it should
mean that we start the season in better shape. I really would
like to see us target Europe on that count, even if we slip into
the second tier competition.
The best way to keep our players if they are not getting
international honours is to win tournaments at club level.
Maybe Marchant is tired, he didn't get 4 months off like the
rest of them did?

Disappointing that Joe's form dipped when he got back from NZ -
on that basis it's not unexpected that he's been left out. Kinda
feel Lawrence has leapfrogged him and Joe's now got a task ahead
of him to consistently make England squads, especially when
Tuilagi returns to fitness. In a squad of 31 players you're
rarely going to have more than 4 centres, especially with
Farrell flitting between 10 and 12. With Tuilagi, Slade and JJ
pretty much shoe-ins when fit, I wonder if this year might have
proven to be Joe's best chance of nailing down that sort of
status within England camps had he been able to keep his form
up. If Lawrence does get a run of games this autumn and
impresses, Joe's going to have his work cut out to get a look
in.

We may not get off Scot free.....Steele and Lang in the Scots
squad this weekend. I wonder if PG had factored in losing those
two. leaves us short at FH and SH

SH we're okay I reckon: Care, Landajo, Stafford. FH is the worry
- has been a worry for a while.
