"On the wider notion of when a return to near normality might be
feasible for spectator events, Dowden outlined the potential
breakthroughs that may be required but was in no position to
       posit a timeline.
“One is clearly the vaccine…the second is in relation to ‘on
day’ testing, so if we got to the point where have the level of
testing and the confidence in it.
“The third thing is natural progression of the disease and
measures to control it, so we have a confidence that we’ve got
it under control and it’s on the right trajectory. Those are all
the factors at play which hold me back at this stage from giving
       that ‘not before’ date.”"
That's not encouraging for any sports.

I wish they would adopt the German approach where it is regional
       and based on conditions.
I think that the rules for them are - less than 35/100,000 and
you can have 20% capacity. So, some areas in Germany have fans -
       and some don't.
But, at least the rule is clear.
However, I don't think that there is any part of England
currently under 60/100,000 - so, pretty academic at the moment.

The Stoop is in an area where the rate is 123 compared with a
       national average of 81.

We're a much smaller country with some pretty high population
density, and movement between regions is more likely. Germany
also devolves a lot of power to regions. Not sure that
suggestion would work the same way here.

Unfortunately when you have the celebrations outside football
grounds when the win a trophy and the team aren’t even at home,
let alone what was seen in Liverpool last night, we are all
going to suffer for other irresponsibility

Unless there is some serious support from central government
there is going to be very few professional sports club left out
side of the Football premiership (and for that matter massively
reduced number of amateur ones!) such a sad situation and agree
with SIB the idiots having a street party last night before
their local lockdown just sums up the problem we have with
people taking this seriously, just morons!

Here in Bavaria, the attendance is limited to 10%. Unfortunately
we have 16 different rules in Germany! Some states limit
attendance after 35 per 100k, others at 50 per 100k. Bavaria is
strictler than the northern states and is pressing for a country
wide concensus, due to be debated this evening and released
tomorrow. The main problem seems to be access to stadia and
transport to and from them, along with bottlenecks around the
facilties and entrances to the vomitorium itself. Leagues lower
than the 3 Bundesliga are allowed 400 regardless as long as
distancing, masks etc are enforced. Clubs that can demonstrate
an complex mass gathering plan, i.e 1000 in a large Stadium ( of
which there are many here in the lower leagues) maybe allowed
with the consent of the local authority. Away fans are not
sanctioned in the 3 Bundesliga or the tier below. Other sports
apart from 'King Football" are planning for restarts in late
October or November, the problem is they are played in indoor
arenas, Ice Hockey, Handball and Basketball which often get
crowds of over 10k. Amateur sports are allowed, the Bavarian
rugby competition began 2 weeks ago, no problem for the possible
40 or 50 souls who watch, but only tables of 5 in the clubhouse
afterwards, due to Munich being over 35/100k. Other towns can
have 10 per table. Also you are masked unless sitting down, for
any standing movement such as the toilet or to go for a smoke
outside. Only table service is allowed. Seems to be okay and the
vast majority have no problem with the rules.

Blimey Bayernquin, they should get you on the press conferences
with BoJo and Chris Witty as your explanation was far clearer.
It is hard not being able to attend and frustrating that we are
bundled together with Wendyball fans but I can't see another way
at present. Maybe if they closed the local pubs and restaurants
2 hours before till 2 hours after a game and close stadium bars
after half time and ensure the grounds empty quickly. Plus the
track and trace, masks and SD on everyone then it might be more
       palatable to the politicians.
