You are also not 100% correct. I wrote 'claim' as they didn't
actually publish the team sheet on Saturday.
So, we will never know if they could have put a team out on
Sunday (although I suspect they could have)

Not sure that would have been the case. The Mail did do stonking
work but others were over it as well and it still would have
come out. Anyway, PRL knew about it and chose to do nothing so
I'd like to see an investigation into them.
Anyway, back on to the subject matter, I agree that they should
have been forced to name their match day 23 at the time and then
lock those 23 down in a secure bubble and as long as that 23
were still fit and healthy, play tonight. If not or not 23
players, it could have been forfeit there and then. A bit of
kidology from Sale me thinks and why haven't we seen the results
of the RFU and PRL investigation, or will that be swept under
the carpet now the game is forfeit?
Let's also understand more about these rumours of a celebration
party after the cup final. If there are no pictures doing the
rounds on SM, then it must have been a Sale sanctioned event
with no phones, which means they were economical with the truth
again.

If it was an internal party though, surely under the rules in
place at the time, it would have been okay. It would be no
different from the Quins players having beers after the Tigers
game

Yes Yareet I absolutely would consider that. If you've done
nothing wrong, you should be able to prove that. I'm so
frustrated with the lack of honesty that has happened in our
game in the last 12 months and clubs now need to be held to
account.
If all the rules were followed and Sale were just unlucky to go
from 2 to 19 cases in a few days then that should come out from
the investigation and with all of our sympathies at losing out
on Top 4.
If not, however, then I'd like to see a sanction against next
season, not a fine, so that clubs and players can see that
attitudes have to change.

So you’re ignoring the lack of evidence of any wrongdoing then?
Guilty until proven innocent.
Any particular reason you don’t believe the official story? We
had a false negative, contact training took place and that
caused an outbreak.
At the moment I have seen no evidence to suggest anything other
than this was the case. Hopefully the investigations will
exonerate us (if not we deserve to have the book thrown at us)
but I genuinely don’t understand the immediate accusations and
desire to believe unsubstantiated (and much refuted) rumours.

Sale unlucky? Well, I suppose Steve diamond might prefer to see
it that way!

How does only 1 club manage to get a false negative? Were they
using different testing facilities? To me its the sheer number
of cases that betrays a smoking gun.
