I didn’t mean that I was advocating that an exception should be
made for Sale, my sentiments were that it would be a great
disappointment for Sale (players, staff and supporters), but it
is what it is, and the points should be forfeited.

It's a shame in the fact that actually, it's good going into the
final game with 8 clubs still having something to play for and
Sale having to forfeit would mean that Bristol would only need a
point but it does mean that Saints have to get points at Castle
Grim.
Should be a good day.

Many clubs not released teams and there is another review by
Premiership Rugby or more likely a big argument going on. . . .

Isn't that bending the rules to favour Sale? Not only do they
get extra time before the match but they know what they do (or
don't) need to achieve, since Bristol will by then have played
their match.

True, but then if they do finish top 4 they will only have a few
days before the semi final.

If my guesswork on timing is correct, last week's positive tests
at Sale are consistent with them having a party after beating us
in the Prem Cup Final.
