Having had a little think about it, I can understand why they're
doing this rather than sticking these boxes in the ballot. They
want to get as many people into the ground as they're allowed.
The club will no doubt have certain rules from the DCMS and
Council they have to adhere to in terms of allowing social
distancing between different groups of spectators around the
ground. From what I saw at the Bath game, the majority of groups
that were able to sit together seemed to be in the 3 or 4 person
size at most. If the club can sell a group of 6 in the
Hospitality boxes, they can place the onus on the organiser of
that group to ensure that the 6 people are known to each other
and share a social bubble of some description, be it
work/family/other. If they ran it as a ballot, then the club
would need to look into all that sort of thing, slowing down the
process etc. I know I wouldn't get through that sort of decision
tree as the folks I watch games with normally I only see at The
Stoop.
I also think that if the club could get to, say, 3000 in the
stands, that could mean that STHs will be lucky more than 50% of
the time in a ballot. Working on a guess that half the STHs are
individual supporters like myself, and the remaining 50% are
groups of friends/families etc, then you won't have all 7k+
applying each time. If you're in a family of 4, then only one
person will account for a ballot entry (all 4 can apply, but if
one person wins, any other winners are in the group discounted &
the places drawn again.) Add in that there'll be people who
aren't able/willing to attend that day (maybe they're shielding,
or can't make it up to TW that day) and the chances of getting a
ticket if you're a STH are actually better than I'd feared.

Neil Q fully agree, and tbh went to Bath game, sat in North
stand , usually in West, and you’d have to say that if your
paying for gold season ticket you’d at least expect a seat in
the same category if you are lucky enough to get one in the
ballot
Understand the club need to get money in etc, who’s know might
even not happen anyway

Maybe the ballot should be broken down by stand so where your
ticket is, is where you enter the ballot. So for myself I’d only
enter South stand ballot. The thing is the longer no fans are
allowed the worse it gets and success % goes down and lets face
it a group stage Prem cup game is not the same as GP or Europe.

Apologies, I am probably being really grumpy.... I have already
bought 3 (season) tickets for all the games next season in what
I believe will be the 'Silver' section. Is my chance of being
successful in any ballot reduced or is this some clever system
where they have worked out we could get a 6 person bubble here,
another one there and so on, making sure they maximise the
number of members that can attend

That's a rather ridiculous way of characterising it, as if a
concern for the one is somehow a lack of concern for the other.

Well, I'm sat in Premier normally (East Stand Block D), and I
was in the North Stand, GA for the Bath game. I was just happy
to at least be back at The Stoop watching the game. Would I have
preferred to be in my regular seat? Yes. Was it a major
annoyance? Not really.
As I said earlier, The club can't know who is in a 6 person
bubble from the normal STHs. The people I sit with I only see at
the game. By selling the boxes to a group, that means the club
can reasonably transfer the onus of ensuring that the group of 6
are a bubble to those buying the box. If the club were to guess
at who could be put together as a bubble, then the Club's
responsible. They're at least looking at people who have set up
other STHs as Family & Friends in the ticketing system to allow
for some groups to get tickets in the ballot together.

If I fail in the Ballot but get Premium Tickets, does the price
of my normal seat get deducted from the Premium Ticket?

Block GA's great. Quins tend to do their scoring in front of
it...
