Interesting video, I don't agree with the comments that Central
government should prop up pro rugby, when it went professional
it became a business. Other businesses are suffering and going
bust, just because it's rugby doesn't make it special im afraid.

It was a business long before it became professional; just a
business that didn't pay its principal talent.
Other businesses are suffering and going bust, but what does
make rugby (and most other professional sport) "special" is that
it is being treated differently by the Government than other
businesses. Outside of the likes of soccer, F1 and possibly
cricket, where TV revenue is the dominant source of income, most
professional sports rely heavily on matchday revenue.
Even though rugby has shown that it can successfully run
socially distanced matches with supporter attendance, it's not
being allowed to do so because of Government policy - and in
contrast to pubs, cafes and cinemas, which are being allowed to
have the public back in with restrictions.
I haven't had the time to look at whether there's a good reason
for that, but the point is that by imposing restrictions on
rugby as a business that it is not imposing on other, similar
businesses, the Government is significantly worsening rugby's
financial situation and potentially jeopardising its existence.
Other sports are in the same boat, but rugby is one of the ones
most severely affected by the restriction.

Sorry, all this talk of selling the Stoop. I thought it is
actually held in trust separate from the club itself?

A million people around the world have died because of this
disease, and that’s with all the restrictions in place. There
won’t be crowds at rugby for a minimum of 6 months, but that
could stretch to a couple of years. How long would you propose
that the government support any sports? 6 months, a year?

early because of the economic damage caused by overly aggressive
lockdowns.

shape or form), and more around the world.
