It'll be whichever club's owner decides they can't afford
to/don't want to keep putting money into it at any level. Not
sure about the premiership but plenty below.
The loss of rugby (and other sports clubs) across the country
will also lead to a deterioration in public health as well.

An interesting point to consider.
If Harlequins were to fold what would those 14,000 people do on
a Saturday afternoon in the Winter? Perhaps some of the younger
ones would play rugby for their small local club? Perhaps some
people would play golf, go to the gym, go for a walk? While some
would no doubt stay at home and watch TV?
However many rugby clubs fold - and plenty have folded over the
past 20 odd years - there will still be plenty left for those
that either want to play rugby - at any level - or watch rugby -
at any level.

I will be being dragged round the local IKEA store with maybe
the odd outing to Homebase or Squires Garden Centre to break the
monotony.

I'd like to think so but that depends how many fold and in which
areas. I'm less worried about the likes of Quins but more the
smaller clubs which rely on clubhouse takings etc.

The point of handing over the money is to support the club and
keep it in existence surely? Seems to me that is a good enough
return on your investment?

Not everyone can afford to give money away without anything in
return though.
I know buying a season ticket means your can/should be able to
but, some of us (me included) have had to have a 20% wage cut
for the last 6 months and don't know even if there will be a job
to go back to.
I'm lucky enough to not have to worry about it at the moment
but many aren't!

I liked the Richmond approach of having a fundraising page - But
- their needs are a bit different.

If I were a professional player, I would be expecting clubs to
ask for a second wave of pay cuts, with an unspoken threat of
redundancies.

It's inevitable. I'd like to think they're starting with this

Can’t remember who it was but somebody on the radio today said
that the government could make loans to all rugby/
football/hockey /cricket etc clubs payable back over a long
period of 20 years or so. It could work a bit like a student’s
university fee system. This is all levels from professional to
local club .
