I was actually very impressed by Long's impact earlier in the
season - we had players running smart support lines and making
incisive breaks when we had fast ball. For me, there are three
issues that are holding back the attack:
       1) There's been a big change in personnel - of last night's
backline, Northmore, Marchant, Earle, Morris and Brown were all
absent for most of the pre-lockdown part of the season.
Esterhuizen is brand new. It's not unreasonable to allow them a
little time to gel. Ashton seems to have got it immediately -
but he came from league and has always played that way (which
now makes me wonder if part of his deal with us is a transition
into coaching - if he could transfer even a fraction of his
reading of the game to our academy players it will make a big
       difference)
       2) We're not getting fast ball.
       3) Related to 2, the refs do not seem to be policing offside
well. We have struggled the most against teams who habitually
encroach past the back foot (and get away with it)

I'd like to think that Healey's comments about hair are
self-deprecating humour about the history of his own hair.
       I'd like to...

Healey makes some insightful points, particularly regarding
attacking plays. He just needs to focus on punditry rather than
       pitiful attempts at comedy.

I think healey is a good pundit and summariser in that he adds
decent insight, unlike dallaglio, who is the alan shearer
equivalent of pundits. He tries too hard to be funny though, and
it just comes across as a bit desperate. It's annoying but I
guess that's just his personality. I'd rather put up with that
and get the insight than have dallaglio, who can't get his head
around the fact that laws and their interpretation have changed
       since he retired.

       he was clearly way off.

       it was ironic.
If you have some time, re-read everything that was written when
Ismael arrived, he seemed like the new messiah.
       Same for Goneva.
honestly until now I'am not thrilled, I just hope it is a
question of finding the perfect physical shape.
Someonehas jokingly asked if he was the new Botica .....

That was me, and as you identified, it was a joke and AE is
nowhere near Calamity Botica’s efforts yet!
Hopefully in a few years we remember Esterhuizen for his
positive contribution to winning silverware, not for kicking
away our last chance in the dying seconds of a European final!
Yes Ben, if you’re reading this I’m still bitter about that and
the Saints match mate! (Is he still playing in France?)

Edited to add: Lest we forget that we’re world class at throwing
it all away at the death...

Playing for Bordeaux Begles. Scored the final points to seal the
win against Edinburgh at the weekend.

De Wet Barry got a bad rep because of that red card for his
tackle on Tait... but people forget that the card was expunged
by the citing commission because on replay Tait tripped into
what would otherwise have been a legal tackle for the era. He
didn't set the world alight but he added some heft to a pretty
       crappy backline.
