Perhaps, just perhaps, in the professional rugby union world
there are too many teams/clubs paying too much money to too many
players? Perhaps a re-adjustment is called for?
It cannot be sound business practice for any organisation to be
       subsidised by a sugar daddy.

No crowds for 6 months. Game over for a number of clubs

       Quintron,
I agree. This will end several clubs. I originally posted that I
see ND1 folding and this 6 months lockdown will only accelerate
it happening. I would not now be surprised if the start of the
new rugby season is pushed back to mid 2021 and the clubs
basically close down once this season is done. Who knows who
will be left standing. Football be.ow the premiership must also
be at massively increasing risk of folding.
It is a terrible future for sport whilst we continue to be
locked down. With the experts putting up graphs showing what
will happen by Mid October if we do nothing then Boris will
continue to lock us all up. Apparently if you extend out that
same graph then everyone in the UK is dead by mid January so it
probably makes no sense to start a new season anyway....

I think the talk of 6 months is a scare tactic to try and keep
people in line with the new restrictions

Honkytonk - you may be correct but if people get told this can
go on to March 2021 then could it in fact do the opposite as it
       looks never ending?

I didn’t mind donating my season ticket money for the last 4
games, but paying every month with no end in sight, I hope we
are at least going to get some online exclusives for season
       ticket members
If the games remain behind closed doors as is looking likely,
you would at least expect to be able to watch all home fixtures
       with a pass

Do you mean that you don't think Covid will last until March
       2021?
I think it will last longer than that.

I dont mean that. I mean that talk of the new restrictions
lasting for six months is to get people to stick to them. If you
dont stick to them, they could last for 6 months, if you do
stick to them and the rates come down again, then they will be
eased. I would be surprised if there are no sports fans for 6
months. Not saying full stadiums of course, but some fans being
allowed back. I could be wrong but it could be some
restrictions announced today are in place for 6 months, but some
may only last a short time. They dont all go together
       exclusively

As harsh as it seems there will be failures of Sports clubs
across most sports in the coming months and unfortunately some
will almost certainly be rugby clubs.
Being optimistic I hope no premiership clubs go ‘pop’ BUT when
Tony Rowe says (paraphrased) unless we have 8 to 10k in the
ground our model is unsustainable it really worries me as they
were one, if not the only, profitable club....
I certainly hope that I am wrong but unless there is some
miraculous changes and a quick recovery I fear I will not be...
