We have to get people back in sports grounds soon or they will
go bankrupt. 10 times more are dying of flu and pneumonia.

It's not just about susceptibility to dying.
The death rate is now much lower, but the after effects can be
severe - from a quick scan of what's on the web, around 15% of
patients have long term after effects, including heart damage
and blood clots. An Italian study found that 87% of hospitalised
patients were still struggling 2 months after being discharged.
The risk of severe complications is small for the young but goes
up dramatically once you get over 50.
We absolutely do need to do what we can to protect sports, arts
and other vulnerable sectors - that's why our family donated
last season's season ticket revenue, and the Government really
should be doing more - but the consequences of not taking
COVID-19 seriously or loosening lockdown too early would be
likely to have large and unpredictable costs in terms of both
the economy and public health.
And that's before we add in what seems increasingly likely to be
another big kick in the balls to the economy and public health
looming in January.

Don’t forget, the government has no money - it is our money.
I appreciate many have died but now more are dying of other
issues as the hospitals are not treating people.
We need to open it all up, we need to go back to normal.
This though is not just a rugby issue so am closing this down
here.

Regardless of any views on the proportionality of restrictions,
lockdowns etc, the reality is that any sport is going to be
severely damaged by the lack of fans turning up to watch games.
Even top level football.
Aside from the professional game, the impact on the grassroots
and community level is likely to be horrendous. That in turn
will likely see lower levels of participation and a knock on
effect on public Mental and physical health. There’s no easy
answers about a way out of this pandemic from any point of view.

It is a tricky one, i would say that in the ground there is no
real restriction to having 10k + at the Stoop, a few basic rules
just need to be followed.
1. Everyone temperature is checked upon entrance, if you are
over 38 degrees you do get in.
2. Face covers to be worn in all concourses and stairways
3. Face covering to be worn in seat when not drinking or eating
4. Bars run as take out only, no indoor drinking
If the club increased the outdoor bar spaces they could serve
all drinks out side.
Now granted some people would still feel unsafe to attend and
the lack of in door areas may make the trip unsuitable for the
elderly or the young who can not cope with the cod of a British
winter outside but there wnt be a solution where a category arnt
left out.

But I prefer sparkling water, 1 slice of cucmber, 1 ice cube and
a mint leaf. Plus various nibbles

I agree with this - until there is a viable preventative
mechanism such as a vaccine then there will be no return to
"normal".
In the current situation there are a lot of businesses that will
go bust. Sport is now business, therefore there will be teams
that go bust and cease to exist in their current form in all
sports and at all levels. It extremely sad - people will lose
jobs, teams that people have followed for years will go to the
wall - but surely that is a price worth paying to save lives?
Who would be happy to die or lose a relative or friend just so
that Quins can continue?
